7U chassis for a 19-inch rack, 142.5 kg
Active ventilation: 58 dBA, best kept to a technical room
Very high-power online UPS for critical infrastructure: online double-conversion, 20 kW / 20 kVA, 7U rack chassis. Technology & protection: power is fully regenerated, continuously — equipment never touches the mains, with no transfer time. Maximum protection against power cuts, surges, voltage fluctuations and electrical noise. Power: 20 kVA for 20 kW of usable power (power factor of 1) — all of the rated power available in watts, for several server racks. Runtime: extendable with additional battery packs to keep running longer. Ports: terminal block connection + 1 heavy-duty C19 outlet; single-phase or three-phase input depending on the installation. Management: serial port, USB port and pre-installed SNMP network card for remote monitoring. Active cooling, to be installed in a technical room. Designed, for example, for data centres and critical business infrastructure. Remember to check how much power your equipment draws and to choose the capacity according to the runtime you need.

Frequently asked questions about this product
How long does the SRTG20KXLI run on battery?
9 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 10 kW, and 5 minutes at 70%, i.e. 14 kW. These times can be extended with additional battery packs, and a full recharge takes 4 hours.
Is the battery pack supplied with the SRTG20KXLI?
Yes: an external battery pack and its cable are supplied with the UPS — which is essential, as the unit has no pre-installed internal battery. The box also contains a USB cable, an RJ45 cable, a C13-C14 power cord, two rack-mounting brackets and two brackets for stabilisation or wall mounting.
Is the network management card already installed?
Yes, a pre-installed network management card equips the UPS, alongside a serial port and a USB port. Monitoring and remote alerts are therefore operational from commissioning, with no accessory to order.
Does the SRTG20KXLI connect single-phase or three-phase?
Either: a 5-wire three-phase terminal block (3 phases, neutral, earth) or a 3-wire single-phase terminal block, at both input and output. The voltage can be configured to 380, 400 or 415 V in three-phase, and to 220, 230 or 240 V in single-phase. The input current reaches 87 A per phase.
What can the UPS withstand in the event of an overload?
60 seconds at 125% load and 30 seconds at 150%. These margins cover the start-up peaks of a group of servers, but not a load that permanently exceeds what the UPS is sized for: beyond that, the UPS transfers to its bypass.
What is the quality of the SRTG20KXLI's output power?
A sine wave with harmonic distortion below 2% and a crest factor of 3:1, for an efficiency of 94.5%. On the input side, distortion stays below 5% at full load: the UPS does not disturb the upstream mains.
How much rack space does the SRTG20KXLI take up?
7U high (306 mm), 440 mm wide and 835 mm deep, for 142.5 kg. This depth rules out most short cabinets, and the weight means it must be installed at the bottom of the rack, with suitable handling equipment.
What input voltage range does the UPS accept?
160 to 285 V at full load, and 100 to 285 V at half load: the tolerance narrows as the load increases. The frequency is auto-sensed between 40 and 70 Hz.
Is there an outlet that can be used directly on the SRTG20KXLI?
Just one: a heavy-duty C19 outlet, in addition to the terminal-block connection. All other power distribution therefore goes through fixed wiring or a power strip installed in the rack.
Which batteries does the UPS use, and how long do they last?
External sealed lead-acid batteries at ±192 V, rated for 3 to 5 years of service, with a charging power of 2160 W. The replacement reference is APCRBC172, two units required.
Where should a 20 kVA UPS like this one be installed?
In a ventilated technical room: it is rated at 58 dBA and its fans run continuously. The battery charging power, 2160 W, also adds to consumption during the recharge phase.
Is the APC Smart-UPS SRTG SRTG20KXLI new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. The unit is CE and UKCA certified, and has an automatic and manual internal bypass and an emergency power off switch. The datasheet lists all the values.
All the power available in watts: 10,000 W usable, as many as the VA. Around 7 minutes of runtime at half load (5000 W) to shut down a full rack cleanly, in only 4U.
A maintenance bypass supplied as standard allows the UPS to be replaced without shutting down the equipment it powers. Around 15 minutes of runtime at half load (4 000 W), extendable with four battery cabinets.
•Around 15 minutes of runtime at half load (4 000 W)
16 kW genuinely available and around 14 minutes of runtime at half load, extendable with up to four battery cabinets. Terminal block input and output, for hard-wired infrastructure.
•16 kW usable output
•Around 14 minutes of runtime at half load
•Runtime extendable with one to four external battery cabinets
A free-standing tower on castors, with an LCD screen showing the load, the battery status and the voltages. Around 16 minutes of runtime at half load, extendable with up to four battery cabinets.
For a whole infrastructure: 9 minutes of runtime at half load (5000 W) and 5 minutes at 70%, the time it takes to switch over to a generator. 94% efficiency at full load and internal bypass.
Doubling the runtime comes down to one extra battery cabinet: 9 minutes at half load become 23 minutes. The 16 12 V batteries are chosen and ordered separately.
