The BX3 BT is sold as a pair: two small MDF studio monitors, each with a 3.5-inch Kevlar woofer and a silk dome tweeter, which take an audio interface just as easily as the phone lying next to them.

One active speaker, one passive
All the electronics sit in the active speaker: amplification, inputs, controls and power socket. The passive one connects to it with the supplied 3.5 mm mini-jack cable. A switch on the rear decides whether the active speaker plays left or right: you put the volume knob on the side of your hand and the cables on the side of the computer, without swapping the stereo.

An audio interface or a DJ controller connects to the two balanced 6.35 mm TRS jacks, a sound card or a player to the RCA pair. For the phone, two routes: the 3.5 mm aux input on the front, or Bluetooth, activated by a button on the rear. The blue LED flashes while searching, then stays solid; the speakers find the last paired device on their own.

The mini-jack headphone output on the front mutes the speakers as soon as a plug goes in, then brings the sound back when it is removed. To work late, you keep the same volume setting and the same wiring. Two controls on the rear, High and Low, adjust the treble and the bass when the room or the desk adds too much.
Placed well, they tell the truth
Upright rather than on their side, the midpoint between woofer and tweeter at ear height, the two speakers and the head in an equilateral triangle, turned towards the listener. If they must lie on their side for lack of space, the tweeters go on the inside. A resonant desk makes the bass boom: stands or isolation pads fix the problem, and foam feet are supplied.

No more sound after a long pause? The speakers are in standby: play audio again for 3 to 5 seconds, at any volume, and they start again on their own. Also check that no headphones are still plugged in at the front.

Are the BX3 BT sold as a pair?
Yes. The box contains a stereo pair: an active speaker, which holds the amplification, inputs and controls, and a passive speaker that connects to it with the supplied 3.5 mm mini-jack cable. A switch on the rear places the active speaker on the left or the right, depending on where your cables are.
How do I connect a smartphone via Bluetooth?
Switch the speakers on and press the Bluetooth button on the rear: the blue LED flashes. Select « BX3 BT » in the phone's Bluetooth settings and enter 0000 if a code is requested. The LED stays solid once the device is paired, and the speakers reconnect on their own to the last device. The stated range reaches 30.5 m.
Which wired sources can be connected?
On the rear, a pair of RCA inputs and two 6.35 mm TRS jack inputs take an audio interface, a DJ controller or a sound card. On the front, a 3.5 mm mini-jack input takes a phone or a portable player. The mini-jack to mini-jack cable and the mini-jack to RCA cable are included in the box.
Can I listen on headphones without disturbing anyone?
Yes. The 3.5 mm mini-jack headphone output is on the front: as soon as headphones are plugged in, the speakers are muted, and the sound comes back when you unplug them. It is handy for working late in the evening without touching the volume or the wiring of your setup.
Can the sound be adapted to the room?
Yes, with two knobs on the rear: High EQ boosts or cuts the treble, Low EQ the bass. Preferably place the speakers upright, with the midpoint between woofer and tweeter at ear height, forming an equilateral triangle with your head. If the desk makes the bass boom, set them on stands or isolation pads.
Do the speakers switch off on their own?
They go into standby after 25 minutes without signal to save energy. Just play audio again, at any volume, for 3 to 5 seconds to wake them up. To switch them off completely, turn the Vol/Power knob on the front all the way down; the LED goes out.
How much space do they need on the desk?
Each speaker measures 140 mm wide, 145 mm deep and 208 mm high; the pair weighs 3.35 kg. They plug into a 100–240 V mains socket with the supplied cable, and foam feet are included to keep them stable on the work surface.
