The low end

The T10S is the subwoofer of the ADAM Audio T Series, designed to complement the T5V and T7V monitors. Its downward-firing 10-inch woofer and its 130 W amplifier extend the bass down to 28 Hz, in a compact cabinet 390 mm high.

It connects between the interface and the monitors
The left and right outputs of the audio interface or mixing console go into the T10S, via XLR for +4 dBu or via RCA for -10 dBV. Its outputs, in the same formats, go on to the two monitors. While it is active, a high-pass filter relieves the monitors of the bass, which the subwoofer takes over. On the back, the filter is set to 80 Hz, 120 Hz or Bypass, the phase to 0° or 180°, and the level lines up with the 0 mark of the T Series monitors.
Three filter settings, three uses

A 6.35 mm jack socket takes a bypass pedal or switch, not included: with one foot, you switch off the subwoofer and give the monitors back the full range, to check a mix without the sub. When plugged in, the T10S stays in standby, red LED; it switches on as soon as a signal arrives, green LED, and goes back to standby fifteen minutes after the signal ends.
Placement changes the bass
A nearby wall adds 6 dB of bass, a corner 12 dB, at the expense of accuracy. The user manual advises starting from a position between the two monitors, at the same distance from the listening position, then trying the others. Its map, drawn for a square room, shows in green the positions to favor and in red those where standing waves cause problems. The driver radiates beneath the cabinet: nothing should obstruct the space between its feet.

How do I connect the T10S with two monitors?
The subwoofer goes in between: the left and right outputs of the audio interface or mixing console go to its XLR or RCA inputs, then its XLR or RCA outputs go to the two monitors. While the subwoofer is active, it removes the low end from the monitors with a high-pass filter. The user manual recommends starting with the level at minimum, the filter on 80 Hz and the phase at 0°.
Which filter setting should I choose?
80 Hz with ADAM Audio's T Series near-field monitors or any professional monitor. 120 Hz with small speakers with limited bass, or for an LFE channel to cinema standards. Bypass when a monitor controller or a surround processor already handles the bass distribution. In most cases, the lower value gives tighter bass.
What is the phase inversion for?
To blend the subwoofer with the monitors. Depending on the distance between the subwoofer, the speakers and the listening position, the bass from both can add up or cancel out around the crossover frequency: the low mids then sound hollow. You compare the 0° and 180° positions by ear and keep the fuller one; the setting does not affect the monitors' signal.
Can the subwoofer be switched off during mixing?
Yes, with a pedal or a switch connected to the Remote Bypass socket, a mono 6.35 mm jack. Closing the circuit switches off the subwoofer and removes the filter from the outputs: the monitors take back the full range, to check a mix without the subwoofer. A momentary keyboard pedal will do; it is not included.
Where should I place the T10S?
Near the monitors, preferably between them in a stereo setup. A nearby wall reinforces the bass but costs it precision: it is best to try several positions by ear. Its driver fires toward the floor, under the subwoofer: its rubber feet keep the necessary space clear, which should not be cluttered with cables or objects.
Does the subwoofer stay on all the time?
No, it goes into standby on its own. When plugged in, it shows a red indicator; as soon as a signal arrives, the indicator turns green and the amplifier switches on. It stays on for fifteen minutes after the music stops, then returns to standby. Power consumption reaches at most 190 W in operation.
