Do these microphones work on their own, or do you need to own a GROUP system already?
They are an expansion: the microphones plug into the speakerphone of the Logitech GROUP video conferencing system, which must therefore already be in the room. Their role is to extend the range of the existing system, not to replace it: bought on their own, they do not make a complete video conferencing system.
From what room size does this expansion become useful?
It is designed for large rooms: with these additional microphones, the GROUP system accommodates up to 20 people and everyone can be heard from their seat. It solves the problem of large meeting tables, where distant participants are hard to hear or have to pass the microphone around.
Is any particular setup needed to get them working?
No. You simply plug the microphones into the GROUP speakerphone: they are automatically detected and configured. For a room already equipped with a GROUP system, adding them therefore requires no intervention at all.
How can you tell, mid-meeting, whether the microphone is muted?
Each microphone has an indicator light that shows three states: microphone muted, call in progress and Bluetooth wireless pairing active. A glance is therefore enough to know whether the room can be heard before speaking again.
Is this Logitech expansion microphone kit new and under warranty?
Yes: a new expansion microphone kit, reference 989-000171, sold on its own and supplied with its invoice. The invoice serves as the warranty document for 1 year: keep it, as it is the document requested if you need to make a claim.
