Frequently asked questions about this product
How many participants does the Logitech Rally cover as supplied, and how far can it be expanded?
Supplied with one speaker and one mic pod, it is recommended for 10 participants. Each additional pod covers 6 more people, up to 7 pods in total, i.e. 46 participants. You can also add a second speaker, the system maximum.
Are the cables included, or do you need to buy more?
Everything is in the box: USB-C to USB-C (camera to display hub), USB-A to USB-B (to the room computer), 5 m CAT6A between the two hubs, two HDMI cables, two power supplies, the radio-frequency remote control — it does not need a direct line of sight — and its CR2032 batteries. The mic pod has a 2.95 m captive cable, and the speaker a Mini XLR cable of the same length.
Can the table hub be placed far from the display hub in a large room?
Yes, comfortably. The supplied 5 m CAT6A cable connects the two hubs, and the system accepts a customer-supplied cable of up to 50 m. The speakers, for their part, can be extended by a further 3 m using Mini XLR.
Is the wall mounting kit included with the Rally system?
No, the Rally Mounting Kit (939-001644) is a separate accessory: it provides the brackets for the camera, the two speakers, the table hub and the display hub. The camera does, however, have a standard tripod thread and a Kensington security slot.
Can the camera be mounted upside down?
Yes. It automatically detects when it is inverted and corrects the orientation of the image and controls when mounted upside down.
Does automatic participant framing work straight out of the box?
Not straight away: RightSight, which automatically reframes participants, is activated through a software download, with initial support on Windows 10. RightLight (light balancing) and RightSound (voices, background noise), on the other hand, are built into the system from the outset.
What happens to the lens when the room is not in use?
It moves out of the way by itself: in standby, the lens parks at -90°, facing downwards, which shows at a glance that the room is no longer being filmed.
Does the 15x zoom make framing jumpy when zoomed right in?
No, the speed adapts to the zoom: up to 70°/second at wide angle to reframe quickly, and much more slowly once zoomed in to stay in control. The field of view reaches 90°, with ±90° pan and +50°/-90° tilt, with autofocus.
How far around the table does the mic pod pick up voices?
Across a 4.5 m diameter, thanks to four microphones and eight pickup beams. The system analyses the audio from up to 7 pods and 56 beams, every 8 ms, to lock onto the person speaking rather than the ambient noise.
Which video conferencing software is the Rally certified for?
It is certified for Skype for Business, Google Hangouts Meet Hardware and Zoom, Microsoft Teams-ready and Cisco compatible. It also works with BlueJeans, BroadSoft, GoToMeeting, Vidyo and any application that accepts a USB camera, through UVC plug-and-play.
Do you need a specific computer in the meeting room?
No, a plug-and-play USB connection is all it takes: the table hub or the display hub connects to the room computer via USB-B. Supported systems are Windows 10, 8.1 and 7, macOS 10.10 or later and Chrome OS.
Can you connect two displays and share content over a cable?
Yes. The display hub has two HDMI outputs to drive two displays and a dedicated HDMI input for wired content sharing. Its built-in amplifiers can power up to two Rally speakers.
Is the Rally ConferenceCam system new and under warranty?
Yes: a new Logitech Rally 960-001237 system, in its original packaging, supplied with its invoice, which serves as the warranty document for 1 year. Components, dimensions and room layout diagrams are detailed in the Logitech Rally datasheet (PDF).
