Frequently asked questions about this product

How long does the BX2200MI-GR run on battery?
8 and a half minutes at half load, i.e. 600 W, and one minute at full load, at 1200 W. The gap shows the value of keeping some headroom: the lighter the load, the longer the runtime.
Do the BX2200MI-GR outlets take a French plug?
Yes, the four outputs are type F, the type used for French and German sockets: you plug your devices in directly, with no adapter or IEC cord. The input cord is 1.2 m long and ends in the same plug.
Why do 2200 VA give only 1200 W?
Because the input power factor is 0.54: only just over half of the apparent power is usable. It is indeed 1200 W that you should compare with the combined consumption of your workstation.
Over what voltage range does the AVR on the BX2200MI-GR correct?
Between 140 and 300 V: the regulator boosts low voltages and reduces high voltages without discharging the battery, which stays full for real power cuts. The output voltage is held at 230 V, to within 10%.
Can the BX2200MI-GR shut down the PC by itself?
Yes, through its USB Type-B port: connected to the computer, it triggers a clean system shutdown when the battery runs low, using the PowerChute Personal Edition software. Audible alarms also signal any change of status.
Does the BX2200MI-GR battery give a warning before it fails?
Yes: a periodic self-test checks its condition and an early warning signals an impending failure, which leaves time to replace it before it breaks down. A full recharge takes 8 hours.
Does the BX2200MI-GR also protect the data line?
Yes, surge protection is provided for the data line, in addition to the power outlets. On the electrical side, energy absorption reaches 273 joules and the response time is 6 milliseconds.
How much space does the BX2200MI-GR take up?
140 mm wide, 390 deep, 190 high, weighing 12.3 kg: a tower format that stands on the floor, under or next to the desk. It is rated at 40 dB, the level of a quiet room.
Is the APC Back-UPS BX2200MI-GR new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. It comes with its input cable and its manual, and complies with the CE, IEC 62040-1 and IEC 62040-2 standards. Its lead-acid battery is a sealed, maintenance-free type.
