Does the GRP2602P come with a power supply?

No. On the P version, the phone is powered through the network cable thanks to built-in PoE (IEEE 802.3af class 1, 3.84 W). The power adapter is only supplied with the GRP2602, 2602W and 2602G versions, so you will need a PoE switch or an injector. The network cable, on the other hand, is included in the box.

Do I need a second network socket for the workstation PC?

No: the phone has two switched 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports with auto-negotiation, one to the network and the other to the computer. A single wall socket is therefore enough for both. Note that these ports run at 100 Mbps — it is the GRP2602G version that goes up to gigabit.

Can it connect over Wi-Fi?

The GRP2602P connects by cable, and that same cable powers it via PoE. Dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 and 5 GHz) is specific to the GRP2602W variant, which is a separate model. You will therefore need a network socket near the desk, ideally PoE-powered.

Two lines and four SIP accounts: what is the difference in practice?

You can register up to 4 SIP accounts on the phone — a main number, a department, a direct line — but the device has 2 line keys with dual-colour LEDs to handle calls in parallel. Audio conferencing, for its part, supports up to 5 participants.

Which headset can I connect, and does remote call answering work?

The headset jack is an RJ9 port, with support for the electronic hook switch (EHS): you answer and hang up from the headset without touching the phone. Plantronics, Jabra and Sennheiser headsets are supported for this function.

Can it be mounted on a wall?

Yes, wall mounting is supported — but the bracket is sold separately. On a desk, the stand offers a single tilt angle of 45°. Allow 208 × 180 × 63.4 mm including the handset, for 670 g.

How can I configure several phones without spending the whole day on it?

With GDMS, Grandstream's free cloud platform: configuration, provisioning, firmware updates and monitoring are all managed from a central interface, by site, by group or by model. Mass deployment is also possible via TR-069 or an AES-encrypted XML configuration file.

What security safeguards does it offer for a phone connected to the company network?

The phone features secure boot, dual firmware images and encrypted data storage. On the network, it supports TLS, SRTP, HTTPS and 802.1x, MD5 authentication and configuration files encrypted with 256-bit AES.

How many contacts and calls can the phone store?

The downloadable phonebook, in XML or LDAP, holds up to 2,000 entries, and the call history up to 800. You can therefore load a small business's entire directory onto every phone: it is downloaded from the server, with no typing on the phone's keypad.

Can I make calls from my computer instead of the phone's keypad?

Yes, with the GRP Click2Dial browser extension: it lets you place and answer calls, search for a contact and access the phone's functions from Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari. The phone remains the endpoint; the computer becomes the remote control.

Will the people I talk to hear the office noise behind me?

The phone is equipped with a noise shield that reduces background noise, and its speaker works in full duplex with HD audio. The G.722 wideband codec is supported, alongside acoustic echo cancellation (AEC), automatic gain control (AGC) and packet loss concealment (PLC).

Does voice quality hold up on an already busy network?

The phone supports Layer 2 QoS (802.1Q, 802.1P) and Layer 3 QoS (ToS, DiffServ, MPLS), so voice can be prioritised over other traffic. On top of that come server redundancy and failover, so that the phones can still get calls through if the main server goes down.

Is the phone new and under warranty?

Yes: the phone is new and genuine, supplied with its corded handset, its stand, a network cable and the installation guide, along with its invoice, which serves as the warranty document for 1 year. Full details are in the datasheet (PDF).
