Frequently asked questions about this product

Is the AOC AG493UCX2's 165 Hz available on every input?
No: the vertical range stops at 75 Hz over HDMI, rises to 120 Hz over USB-C and reaches 165 Hz over DisplayPort. Your choice of cable therefore has a direct and significant effect on the smoothness you get.
Is a single USB-C cable enough between my laptop and the AG493UCX2?
Yes, if its USB-C port supports video: this cable carries the picture, powers the USB hub and charges the computer at up to 65 W. The refresh rate is then capped at 120 Hz, compared with 165 Hz over DisplayPort.
Can you control two computers from the AG493UCX2?
Yes: a KVM switch is built in, with three downstream USB 3.1 ports for the keyboard, the mouse and a peripheral. The two machines thus share the same monitor and the same accessories.
Can a 49-inch 32:9 monitor replace two QHD monitors?
Its panel displays 5120 x 1440 pixels across an active width of 1193.5 mm: that is the area of two QHD monitors side by side, with no bezel in the middle. The 1800R curvature softens the far edges; allow for 1194.4 mm of width on the desk.
Does the AG493UCX2 have built-in speakers?
Yes, two 5 W speakers, a rare output for a desktop monitor. A 3.5 mm headphone output is also provided on the chassis.
Is the AG493UCX2 stand height-adjustable?
Yes: 100 mm of height travel, with tilt and swivel. The monitor weighs 14.4 kg unpacked: check that your desk is sturdy enough, and allow for 308 mm of depth with the base.
How good are the contrast and HDR of this 49-inch AOC?
Its VA panel delivers a static contrast ratio of 3000:1 and 400 cd/m², which earns it VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. Power consumption is 68 W in operation.
