Frequently asked questions about this product
Does this Dell Pro Tower support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth?
No: neither Wi-Fi nor Bluetooth on this configuration. Networking goes through the 1 Gbps RJ-45 Ethernet port at the back, so you need to run a cable to the workstation. The case also opens tool-free and offers three PCIe slots for an expansion card.
How much RAM can this desktop PC take?
The Dell Pro Tower chassis accepts up to 64 GB of DDR5 at 6,400 MT/s, compared with the 8 GB installed here. There is therefore plenty of room to grow: you can start light and add memory later, as workloads get heavier. The 8 GB installed is already DDR5, the same generation as the modules you would add.
Can a second SSD or an expansion card be added later?
Yes. The case opens tool-free and gives access to three PCIe slots of standard height — two x1 and one x16 for a graphics card. A second M.2 SSD can be added via the Zoom expansion card, in addition to the 512 GB drive already in place: the workstation is upgraded rather than replaced.
Is a monitor supplied with this desktop tower, and what video outputs does it have?
The monitor is not included: this is a tower unit only, to be connected to the monitor of your choice. The rear panel offers a DisplayPort 1.4a (up to 4096 × 2304 at 60 Hz with a 14th-generation Core processor such as the i5-14500) and an HDMI 2.1 port (up to 4096 × 2160 at 60 Hz).
How many monitors can be connected simultaneously without a dedicated graphics card?
Up to four displays simultaneously with the integrated Intel graphics, without using the PCIe x16 slot. Enough to equip an accounting, monitoring or multi-window data-entry workstation. An AMD Radeon RX graphics card is available as an option in the range if display needs go further.
Is there a USB-C port on the front?
Yes: the front panel groups a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps), a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 at the same speed, two USB-A 2.0 ports and a headphone jack, next to the power button with its diagnostic LED. The rear adds two 5 Gbps USB-A ports and two USB-A 2.0 ports marked SmartPower On.
How much space does this tower take up on a desk, and can it be locked to the workstation?
154 × 293 × 324.3 mm for 5.44 kg, i.e. less than 15 litres: it stands upright next to a monitor just as well as under a desk. A padlock loop and a Kensington security cable slot at the back let you secure it in a shared space or a reception area.
Does it make much noise in a shared office?
Its thermal design has been reworked to optimise airflow, for operation that is up to 50% quieter. That matters when the tower sits on the desk rather than on the floor. An optional dust filter is also available for harsh environments, such as a workshop or a technical room.
Is Windows 11 Pro already installed, and what does it offer a business?
Yes, Windows 11 Pro is preinstalled: the machine boots straight to the desktop, with no licence to buy. For the fleet, computers can be managed from the cloud with Microsoft Intune and Dell Management Portal, and the unified BIOS shared by Dell Pro micro, compact and tower models simplifies large-scale rollouts.
Is this an AI PC with an NPU?
No. This model is built on a 14th-generation Intel Core i5-14500, with no built-in AI engine. The “AI PC” configurations in the Dell Pro Tower range use Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors and their dedicated NPU: those are the versions to turn to for on-device AI.
Which environmental certifications and recycled materials does this Dell Pro Tower have?
It is ENERGY STAR and EPEAT Gold with Climate+ certified, and meets TCO Certified, generation 10, which covers both energy use and repair. As for materials: 44% recycled plastic, 50% recycled steel in the chassis and packaging that is up to 100% recycled.
What reliability can you expect, and how long is this PC under warranty?
Dell Pro desktops undergo testing to military standards, and less than 1% of them require service during their first year. New and sealed, this QCT1250-I5-W is supplied with its invoice, which serves as the warranty document for 3 years.
