Frequently asked questions about this product
Can Windows 11 be installed on this Dell Pro Tower supplied with Ubuntu?
Yes. Dell certifies the Pro Tower QCT1250 for Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro in addition to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. No Windows licence comes with this version: it is bought separately and installed on the 512 GB NVMe SSD. In a business, the Pro edition is the most suitable.
What does vPro mean on the Core i5-14500?
An Intel platform designed for corporate fleets, which makes it easier for the IT department to manage and secure workstations remotely. On performance, the Core i5-14500 combines 14 cores and 20 threads, boosts up to 5.0 GHz and has 24 MB of cache for office work, business management and multitasking.
Can the memory be increased beyond 16 GB?
Yes, up to 64 GB across the motherboard's 2 UDIMM DDR5 slots, with 8, 16 or 32 GB modules. With the Core i5-14500, memory runs at up to 4,800 MT/s, even if the module is faster. For dual channel, install two identical modules.
Can a dedicated graphics card be added to this tower?
Yes, the chassis allows it: it offers one full-height PCIe x16 slot and two PCIe x1 slots. Dell offers this model with cards such as the AMD Radeon RX 6300, the Radeon RX 7400 or the NVIDIA RTX A400. Check the power draw of the card you choose before buying: the internal power supply depends on the configuration supplied.
How many monitors can I connect to this Pro Tower?
Two directly, on the DisplayPort 1.4a output (up to 4096 x 2304 at 60 Hz) and the HDMI 2.1 output (up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz), driven by the Intel UHD Graphics 770. With MST-compatible monitors daisy-chained over DisplayPort, the tower handles up to 4.
Are the keyboard and mouse included?
Yes. The Pro Tower QCT1250 comes with the Dell KB216 wired keyboard and the Dell MS116 wired optical mouse. Just add a monitor: on the front, two USB-A 2.0 ports, one 5 Gbps USB-A, one 5 Gbps USB-C and a headset jack remain available for your accessories.
