Frequently asked questions about this product

What does the “T” in the EPOS IMPACT 460T model name stand for?
It is the Microsoft Teams-certified variant: only this one gets the Teams button on the ear cup and meets the Teams Open Office requirements for microphone quality. The IMPACT 460 without the T is simply optimised for UC platforms.
How do you quickly mute the microphone during a meeting?
By raising the mic boom: the lift-to-mute function cuts the sound when the boom goes up and restores it when it comes back down. An indicator light on the microphone confirms at a glance that you are muted.
Does the busy light remain visible when it is off?
No, it is completely invisible until it lights up, and it is fitted on one side of the headset only. The headset thus keeps a discreet look outside of calls, which matters when you also wear it away from the office.
Can the ear cushions of the IMPACT 460T be replaced when they wear out?
Yes. EPOS lists replacement ear cushions for the entire IMPACT 400 series, under part number 1001387. The original cushions measure Ø62.5 mm and combine memory foam with faux leather.
Does this headset protect your hearing over a full day of calls?
Two features take care of it: EPOS ActiveGard against acoustic shocks from unexpected peaks, and a limiter compliant with the European Directive 2003/10/EC, which keeps the average at 85 dB over the working day.
Does the IMPACT 460T work on a computer without a USB-C port?
Yes, a USB-C to USB-A adapter is included in the box. The headset therefore plugs into either type of port, with no extra purchase and no configuration.
Can the IMPACT 460T be connected to an Android phone?
Yes, directly: it connects to any USB-C-compatible Android device so you can take a call straight away, with no pairing and no app.
Does the headset automatically detect when you take it off?
No, there is no wear detection: music does not pause by itself and the call is not transferred when you put the headset down. The controls remain manual, on the ear cup.
Is the IMPACT 460T easy to carry around?
It is ultra-light and foldable: 138.6 g in the binaural version, and a carrying pouch is included. This is the two-ear-cup version; the mono IMPACT 430T from the same series goes down to 103.6 g.
What is in the box of the EPOS IMPACT 460T?
The binaural headset, the USB-C to USB-A adapter, the carrying pouch, the quick guide and the safety and compliance sheet. Everything you need to plug in and make calls is therefore in the box.
Is the audio quality of the IMPACT 460T also suitable for music?
Its speakers cover 20 Hz to 20 kHz for music as well as voice — the headset does not narrow its frequency range outside of calls — and playback stays stereo in both modes. The microphone, for its part, works over 100 Hz to 8 kHz.
Do you need to install software to use this EPOS headset?
No, the connection is plug-and-play. EPOS Connect is then used for firmware updates and audio preferences, on Windows, Mac and VDI environments, while EPOS Manager manages an entire fleet of headsets.
Is this EPOS IMPACT 460T new and under warranty?
