Frequently asked questions about this product

Does this IMPACT 400 model have the Teams button?
Yes. EPOS reserves the Teams button and Teams Open Office certification for the ANC and T variants — this one is the ANC version. A press on the ear cup joins the meeting.
How do you mute the microphone during a meeting?
By raising the mic boom: the lift-to-mute function cuts the sound when it goes up and restores it when it comes back down. If you speak while muted, an LED flashes on the boom, within your field of vision.
Does the busy light remain visible when it is off?
No, it is completely invisible until it lights up, and it is fitted on one side of the headset only. The look stays discreet outside of calls, which matters for a headset that goes everywhere with its owner.
How many microphones pick up your voice on this headset?
Four, driven by AI-based voice pick-up that cancels the voices around you. It is this technology that allows EPOS to claim the Microsoft Open Office requirements for this model.
Can the mic boom be worn on the right side?
Yes, it is flexible and rotates through 270°, allowing it to be worn on the left or the right. It is also the boom that answers calls and mutes, with a simple movement.
Can you talk to a colleague without taking off the headset?
Yes, TalkThrough mode lets nearby voices through for a brief exchange, then closes the sound bubble again. The hybrid ANC then takes over again against open-plan office noise.
Does the headset work on a computer without a USB-C port?
Yes, a USB-C to USB-A adapter is included in the box: it plugs into any device with either port, with no installation. It also connects directly to an Android mobile via USB-C.
How does this headset protect your hearing over a full day?
Three features: EPOS ActiveGard against sudden peaks on the line, the European limiter that keeps the average at 85 dB over the day, and the Australian G616 acoustic safety standard, which caps the level at 102 dB SPL.
Is the IMPACT 400 easy to carry around?
Yes, its ultra-light design folds when not in use and a carrying pouch is included. The soft ear cushions and padded headband are designed for extended wear.
Which platforms is the IMPACT 400 ANC certified for?
Microsoft Teams and Teams Open Office, as well as Zoom, Google Meet and Google Voice, and it works with Chromebook. Management is handled by EPOS Connect for a single workstation and EPOS Manager for a fleet.
