How does this Engage 50 II connect to a computer?
Directly, through a USB-C port: it is plug-and-play, with no driver and nothing to install. This is the USB-C variant of the Engage 50 II, designed for recent laptops.
What do three microphones offer over a single one?
A 3-MEMS-microphone system locates your voice and separates what you say from the background chatter of the floor. They pick up from 100 Hz to 14,000 Hz — the useful band for speech, well beyond that of a telephone.
How do colleagues know I am on a call?
Through the built-in Busylight: it lights up during the call. The same light strip also signals incoming calls and, depending on the model, Microsoft Teams notifications.
Does the headset detect when I am wearing it?
Yes, it has on-head detection: the headset knows whether it is being worn or has been put down, which makes it possible to automate presence status and call answering in the telephony software.
65 g: is that comfortable over a full day in a call centre?
That is the stated weight for the stereo version, this one — the mono version weighs 45 g. The headband is on-ear and the ear cushions are faux leather, a design intended for all-day wear.
Is this headset also suitable for listening to music?
Yes: the 20 mm speakers cover 50 Hz to 20,000 Hz in music mode, and 100 Hz to 14,000 Hz in voice mode. The sound therefore adapts to the use, whether a call or listening.
Is agents' hearing protected on this model?
Yes, extensively: Jabra SafeTone 2.0, PeakStop 105 against spikes, plus compliance with the European regulations on noise at work, the G616 standard and OSHA rules.
