What is in the box of this Engage 55 SE stereo?
The headset with two ear cups, the USB-A DECT adapter, a USB cable, a travel pouch and the documentation. The whole kit fits in a laptop bag for moving between the office and remote working.
Two ear cups rather than one: when does it make sense?
When you need to shut out the background chatter to stay focused on the call: the stereo version covers both ears. The trade-off is that you hear your colleagues less well — it is a question of how the team is organised.
How much freedom of movement with this DECT adapter?
Up to 150 m around the workstation, as the link is dedicated to voice: it does not share the Wi-Fi band and holds its range where Bluetooth drops out after a few metres.
Is the sound suitable for anything other than calls?
The speakers cover 40 Hz to 16,000 Hz, with wideband audio optimised for voice over the 150 Hz - 6,800 Hz range. The frequency response therefore goes well beyond what telephony alone requires.
13 hours of battery life: under what conditions?
With the busylight switched off: that is the condition stated by the manufacturer, as the Busylight uses some power when it is on. A full recharge takes 90 minutes, with 40% in half an hour.
Are conversations protected from eavesdropping?
The link's security goes beyond level C, the highest of the DECT security levels. That is the deciding factor for use in departments handling sensitive data.
Is the battery of this headset replaceable?
Yes, by the user. For a fleet of headsets worn eight hours a day, replacing the battery costs a fraction of the price of new equipment.
Is hearing protected on this stereo headset?
Yes: PeakStop against spikes, SafeTone 2.0 for exposure over time, and compliance with the European directive on noise at work as well as the G616 standard.
Is this Jabra Engage 55 SE Stereo USB-A new and under warranty?
