This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Is the 8× zoom optical or digital?
It is digital: magnification is done by cropping into the image from the 21 MP CMOS sensor, so the more you zoom, the more resolution you lose. The anti-shake function limits camera-shake blur, and framing is done on the 2.4-inch TFT screen.
Can you take photos without a memory card?
No, not in practice: the built-in memory only holds test photos, at 3 MP. Plan on an SD card from day one (the camera accepts them up to 64 GB), otherwise the sensor's 21 MP will remain unusable.
Do you need to buy batteries to make it work?
No: the DC5200 is powered by a lithium battery, not by disposable batteries. The camera is rated to operate from 0 to 40 °C.
Is there a viewfinder for framing other than on the screen?
No, there is no optical viewfinder: all framing is done on the 2.4-inch TFT LCD screen, which is also used for the menus, the seven Scene modes and the exposure settings.
Can it be connected directly to a TV?
No, there is no TV output. Photos are transferred via USB 2.0 to a computer running Windows XP, Vista, 7 or Mac, and the camera supports direct printing to a compatible printer, without going through the computer.
What is the maximum video quality?
The maximum is HD 1280 × 720; 640 × 480 and 320 × 240 resolutions are also available. Videos are recorded in AVI and photos in JPEG, with a built-in microphone for sound.
Can you reduce the photo resolution to store more of them?
Yes, thirteen resolutions are offered, from 21 MP (5616 × 3744) down to VGA (640 × 480), by way of 16, 12, 10, 8 or 5 MP. Two 16:9 wide formats are also provided, 7M HD (3648 × 2048) and 2M HD (1920 × 1080).
Does it cope in low light?
Within precise limits: sensitivity tops out at ISO 400 (auto, 100, 200 or 400). To compensate, rely on the Night, Night Portrait and High Sensitivity modes, on exposure compensation of −3 to +3 EV and on the flash, which can be set to auto, forced, red-eye reduction or off.
Can you shoot photos in bursts?
Yes, with one limitation to be aware of: burst shooting is in VGA (640 × 480) and limited to 6 frames. To catch the right moment at full resolution, use smile capture or the 2, 5 or 10-second self-timer instead.
Is it suitable for a photography beginner?
Yes, that is what it is designed for: Auto mode adapts the shot by itself, and the Landscape, Portrait, Night, Night Portrait, High Sensitivity and Beach presets cover everyday situations. Face detection guarantees good image quality without having to be a settings pro.
Does this reference really correspond to the silver version?
Yes. EAN code 3760265540754 identifies the DC5200 Silver. The model also comes in black (3760265540747), red, pink and blue, each with its own code: check it if you want a specific colour.
Is the camera new and under warranty?
Yes: it is new and sealed in its original packaging, supplied with its invoice, which serves as the 1-year warranty document. Details of the resolutions, modes and settings are given in the AgfaPhoto datasheet (PDF).
