This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Which processors does the MSI B850M GAMING PLUS WIFI accept?
AMD Ryzen processors on the AM5 socket, the board being optimised for the 9000 series. An AM4 processor will not fit this socket: the socket is different.
Is this motherboard micro-ATX?
Yes: it is a micro-ATX board, shorter than an ATX. It fits in a micro-ATX case as well as in an ATX mid-tower, which leaves the choice of chassis open.
How many M.2 SSDs can I install on this motherboard?
Two, one of them Gen5 — the fastest, to be reserved for the system SSD. Both sit under an M.2 Shield Frozr heatsink that keeps them from slowing down as they heat up.
Do I need a screwdriver to fit an M.2 SSD on this board?
No: the EZ M.2 Clip II fastener works without tools. The tiny M.2 screw that you drop into the case is a thing of the past.
What memory does this B850M motherboard accept?
DDR5, with EXPO (AMD's) and A-XMP profiles. DDR4 does not fit these slots: the connector is different.
Is the graphics card slot reinforced?
Yes: the PCIe 5.0 x16 is clad in the Steel Armor metal reinforcement. Useful under a heavy graphics card, which weighs on the connector for years.
What network connections does the B850M GAMING PLUS WIFI have?
Wi-Fi 7 and a 5 Gbps wired port. The EZ Antenna attaches without twisting, in a single move, instead of being screwed on.
What power supply does this MSI motherboard require?
One 8-pin processor connector and one 4-pin, with the power stage in 8+2+1 phases at 60 A. The board also has an additional PCIe power connector to relieve the graphics slot.
Can I connect the USB-C port on the front of my case?
Yes: an internal USB-C connector is provided for the front panel. It is the detail that often leaves a case port unused when the motherboard does not offer it.
Can I update the BIOS without a processor installed?
Yes: the board has a Flash BIOS button and a Clear CMOS button. The first is used when a recent processor requires a BIOS version newer than the one shipped from the factory.
How can I identify a boot failure on this board?
With the EZ Debug diagnostic LEDs, which point to the faulty component — processor, memory, graphics card or drive — when the machine refuses to start.
Is this MSI B850M motherboard new and under warranty?
Yes, it is a new MSI product, reference 911-7E66-001, built on a 6-layer PCB with 2 oz copper. The invoice serves as the warranty document, for 1 year. Keep it in case a defect is found.
