1 year manufacturer's warranty

This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.
  • If the product cannot be repaired, the brand offers an exchange for another product.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How many inputs does the Universal Audio Volt 1 interface have?
A single input, for two outputs: that is what “1×2” means. It takes one mic or one instrument at a time. To record two sources simultaneously — vocals and guitar, or a two-person podcast — the Volt 2 is the one to look at.
What does the Vintage mode of the Universal Audio Volt 1 bring?
It switches the preamp to a mode derived from the UA 610, a 1960s tube preamp. The signal gains thickness and warmth — a character added at the recording stage, not at the editing stage.
What is the Volt 1's 76 compressor for?
For controlling level swings while recording. Inspired by the 1176, it offers three modes — vocal, guitar, bass: the voice stays present without clipping on loud words, something no gain setting alone can achieve.
Does the Volt 1 interface need a power adapter?
No, it is USB bus-powered. A single cable is enough: sound and power travel over the same connection, which makes it usable on the go, connected to a laptop or tablet.
Can you plug a guitar directly into the Volt 1?
Yes: its input is an XLR mic / 6.35 mm jack combo socket that accepts line level and high-impedance instrument input. It is this Hi-Z input that lets you plug in a guitar without a DI box.
What conversion quality does the Universal Audio Volt 1 offer?
24-bit at 192 kHz. The 24 bits provide the dynamic range — the headroom between hiss and clipping — and it is this bit depth, more than the sampling rate, that matters when recording.
Which software comes with the Universal Audio Volt 1?
Ableton Live Lite, Melodyne Essential and UAD Spark. Enough to record, correct pitch and process sound without buying any software: a real part of the product's value, often overlooked at purchase.
Does the Universal Audio Volt 1 work with an iPad?
Yes, it is stated to be compatible with macOS, Windows 10 and later, iOS and iPadOS over USB-C. The box also contains two cables, USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A, to cover both generations of ports.
Is the Universal Audio Volt 1 interface new and under warranty?
New, in original Universal Audio packaging, with its two USB cables and its quick start guide. The invoice serves as the warranty document for 1 year. Keep it: it is the document that will be requested if you make a claim.
