What is the difference between the GO Essential's IPX7 rating and an IP67 rating?
IPX7 guarantees protection against temporary immersion in water: the pool, rain, the sink. The X, however, means that dust resistance has not been rated by the test — a nuance worth knowing before taking it onto the sand.
How long does the JBL GO Essential play on a single charge?
Up to 5 hours, with a full recharge in 2 h 30 min. It is a secondary speaker, for an outing or an evening: beyond that, you will need to recharge it during the day.
What charging cable comes with the JBL GO Essential?
A micro-USB cable, supplied in the box — not a USB-C one. Keep it: it is this speaker's connector, less common than the one on recent phones.
What can you expect from a 3.1 W, 180-gram speaker?
Mono sound covering 180 Hz to 20 kHz. The range starts at 180 Hz: voices, podcasts and mid-range instruments come through well, but deep bass is not part of the deal in an 86 x 71 x 32 mm enclosure.
Which Bluetooth version does the GO Essential use?
Bluetooth 4.2, with the A2DP 1.2 profile for audio streaming and AVRCP 1.5 for playback controls. An older generation, but compatible with all the phones, tablets and computers on the market.
What is in the box of the JBL GO Essential?
The speaker, the micro-USB charging cable, the quick start guide, the safety sheet and the warranty card. Everything you need to use it from day one, with no additional accessory.
Is the speaker new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. As its IPX7 rating allows temporary immersion, rinsing it with clean water after an outing poses no risk to the speaker.
