Does the Canon MAXIFY GX7140 scan both sides in a single pass?
Yes. Its 50-sheet automatic document feeder reads the front and back in a single pass, without turning the stack over. That is rare on an ink tank printer, and it halves the time needed to scan a file.
Does the Canon GX7140 have a fax?
Yes, it is a 4-in-1: print, copy, scan and fax, with a speed of 33.6 kbps and automatic restart after a failure. It also accesses Cloud services from its screen.
How many pages do the Canon GX7140 ink bottles give?
The high-yield GI-46 bottles are rated for 6,000 pages in black and 14,000 in colour, and up to 9,000 and 21,000 pages in economy mode. Four bottles — one per colour — come with the machine at purchase.
Does the Canon MAXIFY GX7140 do automatic duplex printing?
Yes, in A4 and Letter on 64 g/m² plain paper. Duplex copying is also automatic, with collation from the feeder: the machine turns out a file ready to staple, with no intervention between pages.
How do you connect the Canon GX7140 to the network?
Via dual-band Wi-Fi, 2.4 and 5 GHz, 100 Mbps Ethernet or USB. The 5 GHz band is much less congested than 2.4 GHz in an office building; Ethernet, for its part, guarantees a stable address for every workstation.
What is the print speed of the Canon MAXIFY GX7140?
24 ipm in black and 15.5 in colour. When copying from the feeder, expect 22.2 ipm in black and 12.2 in colour, with the first colour copy out in 12 seconds.
Does the Canon GX7140 print borderless photos?
No, borderless printing is not supported. That is consistent with its purpose: this machine is designed for high-volume office documents, with pigment ink, not for photo printing.

350 sheets of input — 250 in the cassette and 100 in the rear tray — plus the 50 sheets of the document feeder. Enough for a full office day without reloading paper.
Can the Canon GX7140 be operated without a computer?
Yes, via a 6.9 cm tilting colour touchscreen. The tilt matters more than you might think on a machine placed low down: it lets you read the screen standing up without bending over, for every copy or scan.
What monthly volume can the Canon MAXIFY GX7140 handle?
Up to 45,000 pages per month at most, with a recommended volume of over 2,000 pages. Its print head is replaceable, as is the maintenance cartridge: two wear parts you can change without sending the machine off to a workshop.
