This product is covered for 2 years by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the 5SC1500i accept a network management card?
No: the slot for an optional communication card — SNMP/Web or relay — only exists on the rack and rack/tower convertible models in the 5SC range. This one is a tower model: monitoring goes through its USB port or its serial port.
What outlets does the 5SC1500i have?
Eight C13 outlets on the output side — the connector used on computer and server power cords — and a C14 input. Make sure you have IEC cords: there is no household socket on the unit.
Is the waveform delivered by the 5SC1500i a pure sine wave?
Yes, the 5SC range “provides a perfect sine wave output for most sensitive IT equipment” — rare on a line-interactive UPS, which usually delivers a sine wave built up in steps.
Why do 1500 VA only give 1050 W?
The power factor is 0.7: 1050 W actually available for the 1500 VA rating. Add up the consumption in watts of your server, your switch and your NAS, and compare it with this figure — never with the VA.
What does ABM battery management bring on this model?
It only recharges the battery when necessary, instead of keeping it on permanent charge, which prevents plate corrosion and extends its service life. The charging mode can be set to either ABM or temperature compensation.
What is in the box of the 5SC1500i?
A USB cable, a serial cable and two IEC-IEC cords. As both communication cables are included, automatic shutdown of a workstation or a server is possible from the moment it is set up, with no accessory to order.
Can the 5SC1500i's runtime be extended with an external battery pack?
No, extended runtime is not supported on this model: its three internal batteries are the limit. To last longer, you either reduce the load plugged in or choose a UPS that accepts external battery modules.
How efficient is the 5SC1500i, and is it noisy?
97% at full load, and less than 40 dB at one metre for a tower model. This is what allows it to stay in an office or a small server room without dedicated ventilation.
What can you read and adjust on the 5SC1500i's display?
The input and output voltages, the load and battery levels, and the estimated runtime. The display is also used to configure the output voltage, the audible alarm and the UPS's sensitivity, without going through a computer.
Is the Eaton 5SC 5SC1500i new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for 2 years. It weighs 15.2 kg, accepts an input frequency of 45 to 63 Hz, and its HID-compliant USB port is recognised automatically under Windows, macOS and Linux.
