2 years manufacturer's warranty

This product is covered for 2 years by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How long does the 5SC1500IR run on battery?
13 minutes at half load, i.e. 525 W, and 8 minutes at 70%. For a rack UPS of this size, that is comfortable: enough time to shut down a server and its storage properly.
Does the 5SC1500IR fit in a shallow rack?
Yes: 405 mm deep, 440 wide and 86.2 high, i.e. 2U. The 5SC range is designed for shallow cabinets, standard racks, two-post racks and wall mounting.
Is the 5SC1500IR's output a pure sine wave?
Yes, and that is rare on a line-interactive UPS: in battery mode, the 5SC delivers a pure sine wave output, suited to sensitive equipment and notably to servers with PFC power supplies.
What is in the 5SC1500IR box?
The rack-mounting kit, a cable locking system — which prevents a cord from being accidentally unplugged in the rack —, a USB cable, a serial cable, two IEC-IEC cords, the safety instructions and the quick start guide.
Why do 1500 VA give only 1050 W?
The power factor is 0.7: 1500 × 0.7 = 1050 W actually available. This wattage is the figure to set against the combined consumption of the server, switch and NAS installed in the rack.
What does ABM battery management bring to this model?
It charges the battery only when necessary rather than keeping it on constant charge, which avoids plate corrosion: Eaton claims up to 50% longer service life.
Which outlets and what input voltage for the 5SC1500IR?
Eight C13 outlets on the output and a C14 inlet, with an accepted voltage range of 184 to 276 V and a frequency of 45 to 65 Hz. The battery is a 12 V / 9 Ah sealed lead-acid unit.
How do you connect the 5SC1500IR to a monitoring system or a hypervisor?
Via a USB 2.0 port, an RS-232 port and a card slot for an optional SNMP/Web or relay card, available on rack models. Eaton Intelligent Power Manager and Intelligent Power Protector software handle automatic shutdown.
What noise level can you expect from this rack model?
Less than 45 dB for the rack versions of the 5SC range, versus less than 40 dB for the tower models. That fits its intended use: a rack or a technical room rather than a workstation.
