This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How long does the 5SC2200IRT run on battery?
7 minutes at 50% load, i.e. at 990 W, and 4 minutes at 70%, i.e. 1386 W. Runtime cannot be extended with an external battery cabinet on this model: its four internal 12 V / 9 Ah batteries are the limit.
Why does this line-interactive UPS deliver 1980 W for 2200 VA?
Its power factor of 0.9 is exceptional for this topology: 2200 × 0.9 = 1980 W of usable power, whereas a desktop UPS with a 0.6 factor would offer only 1320. It is this wattage that you should compare from one model to another.
Can the 5SC2200IRT be installed in a rack or as a tower?
Both: it is a convertible 2U chassis, and the rack-mounting kit is included, with a cable locking system that prevents a cord from being accidentally unplugged. Allow for 522 mm of depth, 441 wide and 86.2 high.
Is the 5SC 2200's output a pure sine wave?
Yes, the output waveform is sinusoidal, which is rare on a line-interactive UPS — they usually offer an approximated sine wave. The output frequency is held at 50 or 60 Hz ±0.1%, with auto-sensing.
Which outlets and what input cord for the 5SC2200IRT?
Eight C13 outlets and one C19 outlet, the heavy-duty type, on the output; on the input, a C20 inlet, with its cable included. This is not an ordinary computer cord: the C20 is the heavy-duty format, not to be confused with the C14.
What does ABM technology bring to battery life?
It charges the batteries only when necessary instead of keeping them on constant charge: Eaton claims up to 50% additional service life by avoiding corrosion. The charging mode can be set to either ABM or temperature compensation.
What noise level can you expect in a rack, and how much heat?
Less than 45 dB for the rack and convertible versions such as this one, versus less than 40 dB for the tower models in the range. Heat dissipation is limited to 205 BTU per hour, for an efficiency of 97%.
Can the batteries be changed without cutting the power?
Yes, they are hot-swappable and user-replaceable. The UPS tests them automatically and protects them against deep discharge: replacement is done without interrupting the protected equipment.
How do you connect the 5SC 2200 to a monitoring system or a hypervisor?
Via a HID-compliant USB port, an RS-232 serial port, and a card slot for an optional SNMP/Web or relay card, available on rack and convertible models. Eaton's Intelligent Power Manager software covers virtualisation platforms.
What input voltage does the UPS accept, and how much does it weigh?
From 184 to 276 V, at a frequency of 45 to 65 Hz, with output adjustable to 220 or 240 V. It weighs 26.5 kg: rack installation is a two-person job, and the unit goes at the bottom of the cabinet.
What can you read and set on the 5SC 2200's display?
Input and output voltages, battery level, load level and the estimated runtime. The display is also used to configure the output voltage, the audible alarm and the UPS sensitivity — without using a computer.
Is the Eaton 5SC 5SC2200IRT new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. The unit is CE certified with a TÜV CB report and cTUVus, and compliant with IEC/EN 62040-1 and 62040-2; the datasheet details the whole 5SC range.
