The Eris Studio 5 is a two-way active monitor sold individually: each one carries its own amplification, power supply and inputs. Its waveguide widens the listening area, and four rear controls adapt it to where it is placed.

Wide treble, a quiet desktop
The one-inch silk-dome tweeter sits in an elliptical EBM waveguide: the treble spreads over 120° horizontally, which leaves room to move in front of the desk, and over only 60° vertically, which limits reflections off the table. The 5.25-inch woven-composite woofer takes over below 3.5 kHz, and the front port supports the bass down to 48 Hz.
Four controls to correct the room
High adjusts everything above 10 kHz by ±6 dB, Mid acts by ±6 dB around 1 kHz. Acoustic Space removes 2 or 4 dB below 800 Hz: -2 dB against a wall, -4 dB in a corner, 0 dB away from the walls. Low Cutoff cuts below 80 or 100 Hz, at 12 dB per octave, when a subwoofer takes the bass. The input gain and the standby switch complete the panel.
A triangle, and tweeters at ear height
Two monitors and the listener's head form an equilateral triangle: each speaker is aimed at one ear, and the centre of the tweeter sits at ear height in the seated position. Leave 20 to 30 cm between each monitor and the wall, and keep them upright: the waveguide requires vertical orientation.

Is the Eris Studio 5 sold individually or as a pair?
Individually: the box contains a single monitor, with its power cord and four foam pads. For stereo listening you therefore need to order two. Each speaker is self-contained, with its own amplifier, power supply and inputs.
Can it be connected over Bluetooth?
No, the Eris Studio 5 has no wireless input: it receives the signal through a balanced XLR or 6.35 mm TRS jack input, or through an unbalanced RCA input, from an audio interface or a mixer. The balanced inputs are preferable to avoid noise on long cables.
What is the Acoustic Space control for?
It compensates for excess bass when the speaker is close to a wall: it lowers everything below 800 Hz by 2 or 4 dB. Leave it at 0 dB for a speaker away from the walls, at -2 dB against a wall, and at -4 dB when the speaker stands in a corner of the room.
Is the low-cut filter useful with a subwoofer?
Yes, that is its main use: set to 80 or 100 Hz, it removes the bottom of the spectrum with a slope of 12 dB per octave and leaves it to the subwoofer. Without a subwoofer, leave it flat to enjoy the monitor's bass down to 48 Hz.
What does the EBM waveguide around the tweeter change?
It widens the listening area: the treble is spread over 120° horizontally, which leaves freedom of movement in front of the desk, and over only 60° vertically, which limits sound reflections off the worktop.
How big is the Eris Studio 5?
Each monitor measures 203 mm wide, 291.5 mm high and 223 mm deep and weighs 5.2 kg. The bass port is at the front, below the woofer, and four foam pads are supplied to decouple the speaker from the desk or its stand.
