Frequently asked questions about this product
What does the 1000R curvature of the Samsung Odyssey G5 offer?
It is one of the most pronounced curvatures on the market: it follows the natural curve of the eye, which limits head movement across a 34-inch panel and markedly heightens immersion in games.
Can a 34-inch 21:9 monitor replace two monitors?
Its panel displays 3440 x 1440 pixels across an active width of 797.2 mm: room for two full windows, without the central gap of two separate monitors. Allow for a width of 806.6 mm and a depth of 272.6 mm with the stand.
What do the Odyssey G5's 165 Hz and 1 ms deliver?
The 165 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms MPRT response time — the measure of motion blur — are backed by AMD FreeSync Premium, which matches the monitor's refresh rate to the graphics card's frame rate and eliminates screen tearing.
What video inputs does the 34-inch Odyssey G5 offer?
One DisplayPort input and one HDMI input. The DisplayPort cable is supplied in the box. From a laptop whose only video output is USB-C, you will need an adapter to one of these two formats.
How good is the contrast of the Odyssey G5's VA panel?
2500:1, more than double that of a typical IPS panel: blacks are deeper, a real advantage in dark games and films. Typical brightness is 250 cd/m², 200 minimum, with HDR10 compatibility.
Is the Odyssey G5 stand height-adjustable?
No: only the tilt is adjustable, from -2° to +18°. VESA mounting remains possible for a monitor arm rated for its 5.6 kg weight — an option worth considering for an 80 cm-wide panel.
How much power does the 34-inch Samsung Odyssey G5 use?
37 W in typical use and 50 W maximum: the trade-off for an ultrawide panel at 165 Hz. The monitor is also flicker-free, a useful point during long sessions.
Is the Samsung Odyssey G5 monitor new and covered by a warranty?
Yes: a new product, in its original packaging, with a 1-year warranty; your invoice serves as the warranty document. The DisplayPort cable is supplied in the box.
