This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Do the wired ports keep up with a fibre plan faster than 100 Mbps?
No: the WAN port and the four LAN ports are 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet. A PC connected by cable will therefore be capped at 100 Mbps, whereas 5 GHz Wi-Fi can reach 867 Mbps.
Will my older Wi-Fi devices work with the Archer C54?
Yes. It broadcasts 802.11ac/n/a on 5 GHz and 802.11b/g/n on 2.4 GHz: older devices connect on the 2.4 GHz band (up to 300 Mbps) while newer ones enjoy the 867 Mbps of the 5 GHz band, for 1,200 Mbps combined across both bands.
Can it be used as a range extender or access point rather than as a router?
Yes, it works in three modes: wireless router, access point or range extender. You can therefore place it behind an existing ISP modem-router to extend coverage, then convert it back into the main router later. Everything is managed from the TP-Link Tether app.
Are the four antennas adjustable or replaceable?
They are four fixed omnidirectional antennas: they cannot be removed and they broadcast the signal in all directions. Beamforming compensates by detecting the position of connected devices and focusing the signal towards them.
How well do MU-MIMO and Beamforming perform when the whole household is online?
MU-MIMO serves several devices at the same time instead of making each wait its turn, and Beamforming directs the signal towards each of them. The network thus stays smooth even with many connected devices, 4K streaming included.
Can I limit children's online time and keep guests separate?
Yes. Parental controls block inappropriate content and set time limits, while the guest network provides separate access that keeps the main network private. Advanced QoS also lets you prioritise one use over another.
Is it compatible with a TV set-top box and 4K IPTV?
Yes: it supports IPTV with IGMP Proxy and Snooping, Bridge mode and VLAN tagging, as well as 4K TV. Its combined throughput of 1,200 Mbps handles 4K streaming without buffering, and QoS lets you prioritise this stream.
What network protections are built into the router?
An SPI firewall with stateful packet inspection, an access control list, DMZ support and WPA, WPA2, WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK and WPA2-Enterprise Wi-Fi encryption.
Can I remotely access a camera or NAS installed at home?
Yes: it supports port forwarding, port triggering and dynamic DNS (DDNS), which lets you reach an internal device even without a static IP address. IPv4 and IPv6 are supported, and the SPI firewall keeps these openings under control.
Can I insert a SIM card for 4G access?
No. It has no SIM card slot and supports neither 3G nor 4G: the Internet connection comes in through its Ethernet WAN port. It can also be installed as an access point or range extender behind existing equipment.
Can it cope with the heat of a poorly air-conditioned home?
Its operating range is 0 to 40 °C, at 10 to 90% relative humidity; when switched off, it can be stored at -40 to 60 °C. The case remains compact — 115 × 106.7 × 24.3 mm — and the power adapter supplies 9 V at 0.85 A.
Is the router new and under warranty?
Yes: new, in its original packaging, supplied with its invoice, which serves as the 1-year warranty document. Setup and management are done from the TP-Link Tether app, and the unit has WPS and Reset buttons.
