Is the charging stand included with this Evolve2 85?
Yes, this version comes with its desktop charging stand, in addition to the Bluetooth adapter. Not every model in the Evolve2 85 range includes one: it is worth checking when you order.
What is the Evolve2 85's talk time?
30 h of talk time with active noise cancellation, and up to 37 h of listening. Fifteen minutes of charging gives 8 hours of use, enough to save the end of a working day.
Do the ear cups surround the ear on this model?
Yes, the Evolve2 85 is over-ear: its memory foam ear cushions enclose the ear instead of pressing on it. It is this shape, combined with ANC, that lets you truly shut out an open-plan office.
How many microphones does this headset have?
Ten: 4 analogue and 6 digital MEMS. Four are used by the hybrid active noise cancellation; the others pick up your voice on the retractable mic boom.
Can you use it wired if the battery is flat?
Yes, a 1.2 m 3.5 mm audio jack cable is included: the headset then switches to wired listening. It is the fallback that many professional wireless headsets lack.
At 286 g on the head, how is the weight distributed?
It is the weight of a premium over-ear headset: the contact area is larger than on an on-ear model, and the memory foam ear cushions spread the load around the ear rather than onto it.
How does the headset connect to the computer and the phone?
Through the supplied Jabra Link 380 Bluetooth adapter, already paired, and over direct Bluetooth on the smartphone side. Two devices stay connected at the same time, with a range of up to 30 m.
Is the Evolve2 85 also suitable for music?
Its 40 mm speakers cover 20 Hz to 20 kHz in music mode, compared with 100 Hz to 8 kHz in voice mode, with the SBC and AAC codecs — AAC being the one used by Apple devices and music services.
