Frequently asked questions about this product

How do you cover the C920e lens when you are not using it?
With a pop-up physical shutter built into the webcam: it closes over the lens in one movement. It is a mechanical shutter, independent of any software — nothing can bypass it remotely.
Does the C920e offer automatic face tracking?
No. The framing stays fixed on its 78° diagonal field of view; it is up to you to position yourself in the picture. On the other hand, the autofocus and the glass lens work continuously to keep your face sharp.
What does the C920e's USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface mean?
It is the current name for USB 3.0, i.e. 5 Gbps of bandwidth. In practice, the webcam plugs into any blue or black rectangular USB port, and the available bandwidth far exceeds what a 1080p stream at 30 frames per second requires.
How many microphones does the Logitech C920e have?
Two, omnidirectional: they pick up your voice without a headset and capture sound from all directions. Useful for two people at one computer, less selective than a directional microphone in a noisy environment.
Can the C920e be mounted on a tripod?
Yes, it is listed as compatible with tripod mounting, in addition to its mount that clips onto or rests on the monitor. The LCD monitor mount is included in the box, along with the user guide.
Does the C920e work on Mac and Chromebook?
Yes. It is listed for Windows 7 to 11, macOS 10.10 Yosemite to 12 Monterey and ChromeOS. The same 1.5 m USB cable serves all three environments, with no prior installation.
Which resolutions can the C920e produce?
1080p and 720p, both at 30 frames per second. There is no high frame rate mode on this model: the webcam aims for the sharpness of a meeting, not the smoothness of a game stream.
What are the dimensions of the C920e webcam?
94 mm wide, 71 mm deep, 43.3 mm high and 162 g, mount included. A standard size for a monitor webcam: it sits on the edge of a monitor without unbalancing it.
Is the Logitech C920e new and under warranty?
New, part number 960-001360, in original Logitech packaging. The invoice serves as the warranty document for 1 year. Keep it: it is the document requested in the event of a claim.
