Frequently asked questions about this product

How long does the 5P 1150i run on battery?
11 minutes 30 seconds at half load, i.e. 385 W, and 7 minutes at 70%. That is enough to shut down a workstation or a small server properly.
Does the UPS measure how much the connected equipment consumes?
Yes: its graphical LCD screen displays the energy consumption measurement of the connected devices. This lets you check that you stay below the 770 W available, without a clamp meter.
Why does 1150 VA give only 770 W?
The power factor is 0.7: 1150 × 0.7 ≈ 770 W actually available. That is better than the 0.5 to 0.6 of desktop UPSs, but it is this wattage figure that you need to compare with your equipment.
What voltage and frequency range does the 5P 1150i accept?
From 160 to 294 V, adjustable down to 150 V, and from 47 to 70 Hz on a 50 Hz system — down to 40 Hz in low-sensitivity mode. This last setting allows it to keep running behind a very unstable power source.
Can the 5P 1150i's batteries be changed without cutting the power?
Yes, they are hot-swappable, without interrupting the protected equipment. The output waveform is also a pure sine wave, rare on a line-interactive UPS.
Can the USB port and the serial port be used at the same time?
No, the two do not work simultaneously. The UPS also has contacts, a mini connector for remote on/off, and a slot for an optional SNMP network card.
How much space does the 5P 1150i take up, and what is in the box?
230 × 150 × 345 mm and 11.1 kg, in tower format. The box contains a USB cable, a serial cable, two IEC-IEC cords, the quick start guide and the safety instructions.
Is the Eaton 5P 1150i new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for a period of 3 years. It has eight C13 outlets with a C14 inlet, stays below 40 dBA, and its output voltage can be set to 200, 208, 220, 230 or 240 V. The datasheet covers the rest.
