Ultra-compact professional UPS for a server rack: line-interactive with voltage regulation, 1550 VA / 1100 W, in a 1U rack form factor.
Technology & protection: it switches to battery the instant the power cuts out, absorbs surges and continuously corrects voltage fluctuations without drawing on the battery.
Power: 1550 VA for 1100 W of usable output.
Outlets: 6 C13 outlets (for computer and server power cords).
Pure sine wave output; the 1U form factor saves rack space.
LCD display: it shows the load, battery level and remaining runtime at a glance — so you can monitor the UPS without any software.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Is a 1550 VA UPS in 1U really possible?
Yes: the 5P 1550i Rack fits in 1U — 43.2 mm high — at 438 mm wide and 554 mm deep, weighing 19.4 kg. The height saving comes at the cost of depth: that is the point to check on the cabinet.
How long does the 5P 1550i Rack run on battery?
13 minutes at half load and 8 minutes at 70%. With 1100 W of usable power, that is enough to shut down a server, its storage and the rack switch properly.
Is the output of the 5P 1550i Rack a pure sine wave?
Yes, the output waveform is a pure sine wave — it is explicitly stated, and rare on a line-interactive UPS. The signal stays clean even when the UPS switches to battery.
What does ABM battery management bring on this model?
It recharges the batteries only when necessary, with temperature-compensated charging as an option. Added to this are an automatic test and deep-discharge protection: three ways of extending battery life.
Why does 1550 VA give only 1100 W?
The power factor is 0.7: 1550 × 0.7 ≈ 1100 W actually available. Compare this wattage figure with the combined consumption of everything you install in the rack.
What voltage and frequency range does it accept?
From 160 to 294 V, adjustable down to 150 V, and from 47 to 70 Hz on a 50 Hz system — down to 40 Hz in low-sensitivity mode, which allows it to be used behind a very unstable power source.
Can the USB port and the serial port be used simultaneously?
No, the two do not work at the same time. The UPS also has contacts and a mini connector for remote on/off, plus a slot for an optional SNMP network card.
Is the Eaton 5P 1550i Rack 1U new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for a period of 3 years. It has six C13 outlets with a C14 inlet, stays below 40 dBA, and its batteries are hot-swappable. The datasheet covers the rest.
