What real-world battery life can you expect from the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14-fh0008nk?
Two figures coexist: up to 16 h 15 min in general use and up to 20 h 30 min for video playback alone. The first is the one to go by for a working day. The 64 Wh battery then charges back to 50% in 45 minutes, with the device switched off, thanks to fast charging.
Are all the ports on the OmniBook Ultra Flip USB-C?
Yes: two Thunderbolt 4 at 40 Gbps and one USB-C at 10 Gbps, plus a headphone/microphone jack. That is the price of such a thin design — plan on an adapter or a docking station for a rectangular USB flash drive or an HDMI projector. All three ports handle power and video output.
Can you add memory to the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip later?
No. The 16 GB of LPDDR5x-8533 is built into the motherboard and no memory slot is accessible. Worth noting: it is precisely this dual-channel configuration of at least 16 GB that allows the Intel Arc graphics to run at full capacity.
Is the OmniBook Ultra Flip's OLED screen suitable for photo editing?
Yes. It is a 2880 × 1800 OLED touchscreen covering 100% of DCI-P3, with a 0.2 ms response time and a variable refresh rate from 48 to 120 Hz. Brightness reaches 400 nits in SDR and 500 nits in HDR, under Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Does the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip unlock with a fingerprint?
Yes, a fingerprint reader is built in. The 9 MP infrared camera adds facial recognition and Windows Studio Effects, while a physical privacy shutter and a microphone mute key protect your privacy at hardware level.
What difference does the OmniBook Ultra Flip's haptic touchpad make?
It has no physical click mechanism: vibration feedback simulates the press, which makes the click feel identical across the whole surface, including at the top of the touchpad. Gestures work whatever the position of your hand, and there is no moving part to wear out.
Is the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip light enough for working on the move?
1.34 kg for 31.37 × 21.62 × 1.49 cm, in an Eclipse Gray chassis with an anodised, sandblasted finish. Its rotating hinge also turns it into a tablet, and the 65 W USB-C charger fits in a pocket. Allow 2.5 kg if you carry it in its original packaging.
How good is the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip's Core Ultra 5 226V for creative work?
It offers 8 cores and 8 threads at up to 4.5 GHz with 8 MB of cache, backed by Intel Arc graphics and an AI accelerator. The machine is Intel Evo certified, a label that validates responsiveness and battery life. 1080p video editing and photo editing are fine; heavy 3D rendering calls for a dedicated graphics card.
Does the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip sound good without headphones?
It has four speakers driven by HP Audio Boost and DTS:X Ultra technology, which spatialises the sound. The microphone side is by Poly Studio, with two digital inputs: the whole set-up is designed for video calls as much as for music.
Is Microsoft Office included with the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip?
No, only a one-month trial of Microsoft 365, reserved for new customers. The same goes for McAfee, as a 30-day trial. Windows 11 Home, on the other hand, is preinstalled and activated — it is the only permanent licence supplied, along with the dedicated Copilot key.
Does the OmniBook Ultra Flip's Wi-Fi 7 really make a difference?
It only delivers its gain with a Wi-Fi 7 router, sold separately; without one, the Intel BE201 card remains backward compatible with earlier standards. It comes with Bluetooth 5.4. The 802.11be standard is still provisional, which may affect compatibility with future devices.
Does the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip's screen cause eye strain over long periods?
The panel is rated low blue light and covers 90.04% of the lid surface, with edge-to-edge glass and micro-edge bezels that limit areas of sharp contrast. The variable 48 to 120 Hz refresh rate also reduces perceived flicker when reading text.
Is the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip designed to be sustainable?
It is EPEAT Gold with Climate+ registered and ENERGY STAR certified. The lid, keyboard frame, base and hinges are made of recycled metal, the speakers and their frame of plastic from waste recovered from the environment, and the keys contain post-consumer recycled plastic.
