A 1150 VA UPS in 1U — is that possible?
Yes: the 5P 1150i Rack fits in 1U — 43.2 mm high — with a width of 438 mm, a depth of 509 mm and a weight of 14.6 kg. The height saved comes at the cost of depth: that is the point to check against your rack cabinet.
How long does the 5P 1150i Rack run on battery?
12 minutes at half load and 7 minutes at 70%. With 770 W of usable power, that is enough to shut down a server, a switch and a small rack-mount NAS cleanly.
Is the output a pure sine wave?
Yes, the output waveform is a pure sine wave — stated explicitly, and rare on a line-interactive UPS. The output frequency is held at 50 or 60 Hz within ±0.1%, with automatic detection.
What does ABM battery management bring to this model?
It charges the batteries only when necessary, with temperature-compensated charging available as an alternative. An automatic self-test and deep-discharge protection round off the package.
Why does 1150 VA only give 770 W?
The power factor is 0.66: 1150 × 0.66 ≈ 770 W actually available. Compare this figure in watts with the combined power draw of everything you install in the rack.
What voltage and frequency range does it accept?
From 160 to 294 V, adjustable down to 150 V, and from 47 to 70 Hz on a 50 Hz system — down to 40 Hz in low-sensitivity mode, which allows it to be used behind a very unstable power source.
Can the USB port and the serial port be used at the same time?
No, the two do not work simultaneously. The UPS also has contact terminals, a remote on/off mini-connector and a slot for a Network-MS, ModBus-MS or Relay-MS card.
Is the Eaton 5P 1150i Rack 1U new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for 3 years. It has six C13 outlets with a C14 inlet, stays below 40 dBA, and its graphical LCD screen shows the power consumption of the connected equipment. The datasheet covers the rest.
