Frequently asked questions about this product

Is a single USB-C cable enough between my laptop and the MSI MD342CQP?
Yes, if your laptop's USB-C port supports video in DisplayPort mode: this single cable carries the image and data while charging the computer at up to 98 W. Otherwise, the monitor connects via HDMI 2.0b or DisplayPort 1.4a.
Does the MD342CQP's 120 Hz work over HDMI?
No: the two HDMI 2.0b ports are rated for UWQHD at 100 Hz. 120 Hz is achieved via DisplayPort 1.4a or USB-C: your choice of cable therefore directly affects the refresh rate you get.
Can you control two computers from the MD342CQP?
Yes: the monitor has a built-in KVM switch. One machine connects via USB-C, the other via the USB Type-B port, and the same keyboard and mouse, plugged into the monitor's two USB-A ports, switch from one to the other. PIP and PBP modes display both sources together.
What does the curved VA panel of the MD342CQP offer?
A contrast ratio of 3500:1, far above the 1000:1 of an IPS panel, with a 1500R curvature that brings the edges of an 80 cm-wide panel back towards your eyes. Coverage reaches 95% of the DCI-P3 colour space, with 300 cd/m².
Does the MD342CQP have built-in speakers?
Yes, two 3 W speakers, so you do not need to add speakers to a desk already taken up by a 34-inch panel. TÜV certification and flicker-free MSI EyesErgo technology round off the features.
Is the MD342CQP stand height-adjustable?
Yes: 110 mm of height travel, tilt from -5° to +20°, ±30° swivel and a slight pivot. Allow for 8.05 kg and a width of 808.6 mm: check the depth of your desk before installing it.
Does the MD342CQP need an external power supply?
Yes: an external 19 V, 9.47 A adapter powers the monitor — a power level explained by the 98 W delivered to the laptop while it charges. Make sure you have room for this power brick under the desk.
Is the MSI MD342CQP monitor new and under warranty?
Yes: new, in its original packaging, with a 1-year warranty; your invoice serves as the warranty document. The manufacturer's technical document is attached to this page.
