Does the Razer Barracuda have a boom mic?
No: its two beamforming mics are hidden in the ear cups. Nothing sticks out in front of your mouth, so you can wear the headset in the street without looking like a gamer mid-match.
Can the mic's noise cancellation be adjusted to where you are?
Yes: the noise-cancelling levels are customisable for indoors and outdoors. A quiet office and a busy street do not call for the same processing, and that is the point Razer highlights on this hybrid model.
Can you stay connected to your PC and phone at the same time?
Yes, SmartSwitch Dual Wireless maintains a 2.4 GHz link and a Bluetooth link simultaneously, with a dedicated button to switch between them. Bluetooth calls come through to the headset automatically.
How do you block calls during a game?
With the Do Not Disturb mode in the Razer Audio app, or by switching source manually with the headset's dedicated button. The app also gives access to the equaliser and game mode.
Does the mic also work when wired?
Yes: the 3.5 mm jack cable is included, and the mics stay active in this mode. Handy on a console or a device that accepts neither a dongle nor Bluetooth: you keep your voice as well as the sound.
How good are this headset's titanium drivers?
The 50 mm driver is divided into three parts, tuned separately for highs, mids and lows, and its diaphragm is titanium-coated — a stiffer material that Razer links to greater clarity.
What are the Barracuda's headband and ear cushions made of?
The band is brushed stainless steel — flexible, lightweight and durable —, the headband padding is soft leatherette to limit pressure on the top of the head, and the ear cushions are breathable FlowKnit memory foam.
