3 years manufacturer's warranty

This product is covered for 3 years by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.
  • If the product cannot be repaired, the brand offers an exchange for another product.
  • If no product is available, a refund is issued as soon as the brand confirms it.

Faulty straight out of the box? Some brands offer an immediate exchange, others a repair. Contact us to find out what applies to your product.

The warranty covers breakdowns occurring under normal use, as defined by the brand's terms. Product breakage (drop, impact, liquid…) is not covered, nor are certain consumable parts.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Are the four drives included in the DS425+ 32 TB bundle?
Yes, four 8 TB Synology drives come already installed, chosen for continuous operation. Everything is up and running from the very first power-on: nothing extra to order, nothing to install.
What happens if a drive in the DS425+ fails?
Work carries on. RAID 5, 6 and 10 distribute the data so as to survive the loss of one drive — two in RAID 6. The failed drive is hot-swapped, without switching the machine off, and the volume is then rebuilt.
Can the DS425+ be sped up later with SSD cache?
Yes, two M.2 NVMe slots are provided, without taking up a bay: the four drives stay in place. NVMe SSDs are ordered separately — this is a possible upgrade, not a component of the bundle.
What transfer speeds does the DS425+ Power bundle reach?
Up to 278 MB/s sequential read and 281 MB/s sequential write, measured in the lab — actual throughput depends on the network and the number of users. The processor is a 4-core Intel Celeron J4125, 2.0 GHz up to 2.7 GHz.
How many camera licences does the DS425+ bundle include?
Two. Surveillance Station manages up to 40 IP cameras on this model, but each camera beyond the second requires an additional licence. This is an item to budget for if the NAS is also to serve as a video recorder.
How does the DS425+ connect to the network?
Through one 2.5 GbE port and one 1 GbE port. 2.5 GbE uses a standard RJ-45 cable: the gain is immediate if your switch supports it, with no change to the office cabling.
Can memory be added to the DS425+?
Yes, from 2 to 6 GB of DDR4. The headroom becomes useful as soon as several DSM applications run together — workstation backup, file sharing and video surveillance on the same machine.
What types of drives do the DS425+ bays accept?
SATA hard drives and SSDs, in 2.5" or 3.5" format. The bundle comes fitted with four 8 TB drives; should you ever want to change the configuration, both formats remain an option.
Is this DS425+ 32 TB NAS bundle new and under warranty?
New, assembled and tested before shipping, four drives included. The invoice serves as the warranty document for 3 years. The datasheet sets out the specifications of the NAS.
