Frequently asked questions about this product

Does this Engage 65 SE connect to a desk phone?
Yes, through an RJ-9 port: the base connects to the desk phone and, at the same time, to the computer via USB-A for the calling software. A single headset therefore covers both lines.
Can the busylight be seen from the front as well as from the side?
There are two: one on the headset and one at the tip of the mic boom. From the front or from the side, a colleague can see that you are on a call before speaking to you.
What range around the supplied radio base?
Up to 150 m over a DECT link. The base and its power adapter come with the headset: there is nothing else to buy to set it up at a workstation.
Which controls are located directly on the headset?
Call answer, call reject and volume. You accept or decline a call without going back to the phone or the screen, which matters when you are standing, away from your desk.
Is the link seriously encrypted?
Yes: DECT security level C, the highest in the standard, with FIPS-certified algorithms. That is the level expected in sectors subject to confidentiality obligations.
Why only one earpiece on this Engage 65 SE?
To stay aware of your surroundings: on a switchboard or at a reception desk, you need to hear what is going on around you. The headset weighs 57 g and its headband is on-ear, with the neckband still available as an accessory.
How many hours of calls per charge, and how long to recharge?
Up to 13 hours of talk time, with the busylight switched off, and 90 minutes for a full recharge — 40% after the first half hour on the base.
Can the battery be changed without sending the headset back?
Yes, it is user-replaceable. This is what sets a professional headset apart from a consumer model: after a few years, you change the battery rather than the equipment.
Is this Jabra Engage 65 SE Mono new and under warranty?
Yes, new in its original Jabra packaging, with the base, power supply and cables included, and covered by a 2-year warranty for part number 9653-553-111, your invoice serving as proof.
