Frequently asked questions about this product

Which devices does the JBL Tune 520C USB-C connect to?
Any device with a USB-C port: PC, laptop, phone, tablet and even games consoles. JBL adds a useful caveat: check that your device's USB-C port supports audio, as not all of them do.
Why are these headphones described as high-resolution audio?
Because the built-in DSP chip processes the signal at 96 kHz / 24-bit: the digital conversion takes place in the cable, not in the phone. The frequency range runs from 10 Hz to 40 kHz, well beyond an ordinary Bluetooth link.
What can you do from the Tune 520C's remote?
Three buttons handle playback, volume and switching between EQ presets, and a microphone is built in for calls. Everything is done from the cable, without taking the phone out of your pocket.
Which EQ presets do these wired headphones offer?
Three: Default for balanced listening, Bass to boost the low end and make music more lively, Vocal to brighten the mids and bring voices forward. You switch with a button, no app needed.
Do the JBL Tune 520C need charging?
No, there is no battery: they are wired and powered by the USB-C port they are plugged into. No battery life to keep an eye on, no pairing, and they never run flat in the middle of a journey.
Does the cable on these headphones get tangled in a bag?
That is what JBL aims to prevent with a flat cable with a reinforced connection, described as tangle-free. The breaking point of wired headphones is almost always where the cable exits: that is exactly where the reinforcement is.
Do the Tune 520C sit on the ear or around it?
They sit on it: they are padded on-ear headphones that fold flat to slip into an already full bag. They weigh 150 g, with two 32 mm dynamic drivers and an impedance of 32 ohms.
What is in the box of the JBL Tune 520C?
The headphones and their warranty booklet. The USB-C cable is attached to the headphones: it carries the remote, the microphone and the conversion chip, so there is nothing else to connect.
