Do these headphones work with any device that has a USB-C port?
With PCs, laptops, phones, tablets and consoles fitted with USB-C. JBL adds a useful caveat: check that your device's USB-C port supports audio, as not all of them do.
Why are these wired headphones described as high-resolution?
Because the conversion takes place in the cable: a DSP chip processes the signal at 96 kHz / 24-bit, and the frequency range extends from 10 Hz to 40 kHz. That is something an ordinary Bluetooth link cannot deliver.
Which settings does the remote give access to?
Three buttons handle playback, volume and switching between EQ presets, with a built-in microphone for calls. Everything is done from the cable, with no app and no phone in hand.
Which sound presets do the blue Tune 520C offer?
Three: Default for a balanced sound, Bass to boost the low end, Vocal to brighten the mids and bring voices forward. You switch with a button, without going through an app.
Do these JBL headphones need charging?
No, there is no battery: they are wired, powered by the USB-C port they are plugged into. Nothing to keep an eye on, nothing to pair, and they never run flat in the middle of a journey.
Does the cable get tangled at the bottom of a bag?
That is what JBL aims to prevent with a flat cable with a reinforced connection, described as tangle-free. The reinforcement sits exactly where a headphone cable eventually gives way: where it leaves the ear cup.
Do these headphones fold for travel?
Yes, they fold flat. They are padded on-ear headphones weighing 150 g, with two 32 mm dynamic drivers and an impedance of 32 ohms: compact, and easy to drive.
Are the blue JBL Tune 520C headphones new and under warranty?
