1 year manufacturer's warranty

This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.
  • If the product cannot be repaired, the brand offers an exchange for another product.
  • If no product is available, a refund is issued as soon as the brand confirms it.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Is this Seagate SkyHawk 1 TB drive new?
No: it is a Factory Recertified model, refurbished and certified by Seagate. It has passed a series of quality tests to verify that it meets the original specifications, but it is not a new product. The invoice serves as the warranty document for 1 year.
How many cameras can this SkyHawk drive record?
Up to 64 cameras. That is the rating stated for this model: beyond that, the number of simultaneous streams exceeds what the drive can handle without dropping frames.
What is a workload of 180 TB per year?
It is the total volume of data the drive can read and write over one year while staying within its operating conditions. On a recorder that writes continuously, it is the figure to compare with your cameras' bitrate — far more meaningful than capacity alone.
Why does this drive spin at only 5,400 rpm?
Because a video surveillance drive favours continuous writing and thermal stability over access speed. Slower rotation means less heat and lower power consumption — decisive in a closed recorder running 24 hours a day. The 256 MB cache absorbs bursts.
Is this SkyHawk drive suitable for a desktop computer?
Its usage specification designates it for video surveillance. Its firmware and 5,400 rpm rotation are optimised for continuous writing of video streams, not for the frequent, short accesses of an operating system.
