Frequently asked questions about this product

What do the PreSonus HD9's 50 mm drivers bring?
They are larger than those of the HD7: PreSonus associates them with deeper bass and more detailed highs, and therefore with a better-defined response for critical mixing. The range covered runs from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
Can the HD9's cable be replaced if it breaks?
Yes, it is detachable via a bayonet connector on the headphone side: quick replacement, and the option of switching from a straight cable to a coiled one depending on the workstation. The supplied cable is 3 m long.
Do the PreSonus HD9 headphones need an amplifier?
Their impedance is 32 ohms with a sensitivity of 99 dB: they are happy with the headphone output of an audio interface, a laptop or a tablet, with no dedicated amplifier — unlike high-impedance studio headphones.
Can they be connected to a mixing desk?
Yes, a screw-on 6.35 mm jack adapter comes with the headphones, in addition to their 3.5 mm plug. The thread stops the adapter from staying stuck in the desk's socket when you unplug.
What is in the box of the HD9?
Four items: the headphones, the 3 m detachable cable, the screw-on 6.35 mm jack adapter and a carrying pouch. Everything you need to plug them in at the studio or on the move, straight out of the box.
Are the HD9 headphones suitable for recording in a vocal booth?
That is one of their stated uses, along with monitoring and broadcast: their rigid, closed-back over-ear design keeps the sound inside the ear cups, which prevents the monitor mix from bleeding back into the recording mic.
Are the PreSonus HD9 headphones new and under warranty?
Yes, new and genuine, with a 1-year warranty, the invoice serving as the warranty document. Keep it: it is all you need for any workshop repair.
