This pack brings together the M-Track Duo HD audio interface, the M100 condenser mic and the HDH41 headphones, with the cables and software to record a voice, a guitar or a podcast from the very first evening.

Two inputs, three kinds of sources
Each combo input on the front accepts a mic on XLR, a keyboard or line source on a TRS jack, or a guitar on a TS jack with its switch set to Inst. Two sources are recorded at the same time, each on its own track. A single switch sends +48 V to condenser mics, and an LED per input turns from white to red when the level clips: you then lower the gain.

The monitoring switch sends the inputs straight to the headphones and the monitor outputs: in Direct Mono, both inputs in the centre, for a voice or a guitar; in Direct Stereo, input 1 on the left and input 2 on the right, for a stereo keyboard. On USB, only the computer playback is heard. This choice changes nothing in what is recorded. The headphones and the speakers each have their own volume.

The M100 is a condenser mic, supplied with its XLR cable, a mic stand mount and a zipper bag. The HDH41 headphones are over-ear, with 40 mm drivers and a 20 Hz to 20 kHz response; their 6.35 mm adapter plugs them directly into the interface's headphone output.

On a Mac, the interface is recognised as soon as it is plugged in. On Windows, you first install the M-Audio driver, downloaded after registering the product. It also works with iOS and Android; on an iPhone or iPad, the device does not supply enough power and you need to add the Apple Camera Connection Kit adapter, a USB splitter and a USB charger.

You are singing but only hear the computer? The monitoring switch is on USB: set it to Direct Mono. And if the input LED turns red, lower its gain.

What exactly does the pack contain?
The M-Track Duo HD interface and its 1 m USB-C to USB-C cable, the M100 condenser mic with its XLR cable, its mic stand mount and a zipper bag, the HDH41 headphones with their 6.35 mm adapter, and a software download card. The mic stand and the speakers are not included.
Can two sources be recorded at once?
Yes. The two combo inputs each accept a mic on XLR, an instrument on jack or a line source, and the interface records both at the same time, at 24-bit / 192 kHz. You can capture a voice and a guitar, or two mics for a two-voice podcast.
Does the interface work without a driver?
On a Mac, yes: it is recognised without any installation. On Windows, you first install the M-Audio driver, downloaded after registering the product on the inMusic account. How can I hear myself without delay while recording?
The front switch sends the input signal straight to the headphones and monitor outputs: Direct Mono mixes both inputs in the centre, Direct Stereo places input 1 on the left and input 2 on the right, and USB only plays back the computer. This choice changes nothing in what is recorded.
Can studio monitors be connected?
Yes, on the two 6.35 mm TRS jack main outputs on the rear, to be connected to active speakers or an amplifier. Their level is set with the Monitor knob, the headphone level with a separate knob, and both outputs receive the same mix, chosen with the Direct/USB switch.
Which software is included?
Ableton Live Lite and MPC Beats to record and produce, the AIR Essential Keyboards, Xpand!2, Bassline, OPx-4 and Tubesynth instruments, the HeadRush ReValver effects, BFD Player with Dark Mahogany and several AIR effects, plus two months of access to Antares AutoTune Unlimited and Splice. Everything is downloaded after registering the product.
How much space does the interface take up?
The interface measures 191 × 111 × 55 mm and weighs 0.36 kg: it slips into a backpack to record away from home. It is powered by its USB cable, with no power adapter. The complete pack, mic and headphones included, weighs 1.34 kg.
