Frequently asked questions about this product
Can you add memory to the HP 250R G10?
Yes: the laptop has two SO-DIMM slots and the original 8 GB sits on a single DDR4-3200 module. The second slot is free: an extra DDR4 module increases the memory and switches the laptop to dual channel.
Is Windows installed on this laptop?
No. It ships with FreeDOS 3.0, a minimal system without a graphical interface: Windows and office software are not included. You need to install an operating system, for example Windows 11 with a licence, before using it day to day.
Which processor powers the HP 250R G10 C78DXAT?
An Intel Core 5 120U: 10 cores, 12 threads, up to 5.0 GHz with Turbo Boost and 12 MB of L3 cache. Graphics are handled by the Intel graphics built into the processor, suited to office work, browsing and video.
What are the display specifications?
A 15.6-inch Full HD 1920 x 1080 panel, anti-glare, SVA type with micro-edge bezels, 250 nits of brightness and 45% of the NTSC space. It is not a touchscreen. It is a work screen for documents and the web, not a panel meant for photo editing.
Which ports does this laptop have?
A 10 Gbps USB-C port that also carries the picture over DisplayPort 1.4 and USB power, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, an HDMI 1.4b port, a 3.5 mm headphone/microphone combo jack and the power connector. There is no RJ-45 network port: the connection goes through Wi-Fi 6.
Can you connect an external monitor?
Yes, in two ways: through the HDMI 1.4b port, to an HDMI monitor or TV, or through the USB-C port, which outputs the picture over DisplayPort 1.4 to a USB-C monitor or, with an adapter, a DisplayPort one. Cables are not included.
What battery does the HP 250R G10 have?
A 41 Wh, 3-cell lithium-ion polymer battery, internal and not replaceable by the user. It recharges to 50% in 45 minutes with the supplied 65 W HP Smart AC adapter.
Does the keyboard have a numeric keypad?
Yes: it is a full-size keyboard with a numeric keypad, handy for entering figures in accounting or management. The touchpad supports multi-touch gestures.
How much does this laptop weigh and what are its dimensions?
It weighs from 1.59 kg, power adapter not included, of which 190 g is the battery. It measures 359.8 x 236 mm with a thickness of 11.7 mm at the front and 15.7 mm at the back, the profile tapering towards the user. A 15.6-inch laptop of this size fits in a 15.6-inch laptop bag or backpack.
