Asus Vivobook 15 · X1504VA-BQ5198W
Classes, office work, video calls.
On a QWERTY keyboard.
This Vivobook 15 combines a six-core Core i3, a 512 GB SSD and an anti-glare Full HD screen in a 1.7 kg silver chassis. A fingerprint reader, a webcam shutter and a backpack are included. One feature decides everything: its keyboard is engraved in the American layout.
A QWERTY keyboard, key for key
The layout is US ANSI: A and Q, Z and W swap places compared with AZERTY, numbers are typed without Shift, the Enter key sits on a single row and no accented letter is engraved. It is the keyboard for people who code, write in English or already type in QWERTY. Windows can type in French on this keyboard, but the keys themselves do not change.
ANSI layout: backslash above Enter, English symbols on the number row.- SSD slot

Frequently asked questions about this product
Does the Vivobook 15 X1504VA-BQ5198W have an AZERTY keyboard?
No, this model has a US-layout QWERTY keyboard (ANSI-US): A and Q, Z and W are swapped compared with AZERTY, and accented letters are not printed on the keys. Windows lets you switch input to French, but the keys will still be marked QWERTY. A user accustomed to AZERTY will choose another model.
Is this Vivobook 15 suitable for studies and office work?
Yes, that is what it is made for. The 6-core Intel Core i3-1315U, the 8 GB of memory and the 512 GB SSD handle Microsoft Office, browsing with several tabs, online classes and video streaming. It is not built for recent 3D games or video editing, as it has no dedicated graphics card.
Can you add RAM to the Vivobook 15 X1504VA?
The 8 GB of DDR4 sit on a removable SO-DIMM module in the only memory slot: to move to 16 GB, you replace this module with a larger one. There is no memory soldered to the board. Storage, for its part, uses an M.2 2280 slot that can take a larger SSD.
Is the display comfortable for long sessions?
For indoor use, yes: the 15.6-inch Full HD IPS panel is anti-glare and TÜV Rheinland certified for visual comfort. At 250 nits, it lacks brightness in direct sunlight, and its 45% NTSC coverage gives accurate colours for office work, not for photo editing.
How do you unlock the Vivobook 15 without a password?
With the fingerprint reader built into the touchpad: place your finger and Windows Hello opens the session without typing a password. The 720p webcam has a privacy shutter that you close by hand when you are not using it.
What is in the box of the Vivobook 15 X1504VA-BQ5198W?
Besides the computer, the box contains its 45 W charger with a round plug and a backpack to carry it. The laptop does not charge through its USB-C port: you need to keep this charger. At 1.7 kg and 1.79 cm thick, it slips easily into the supplied backpack.
What connectivity does the Vivobook 15 X1504VA offer?
It offers 1 USB-C at 5 Gbps, 2 USB-A at 5 Gbps, 1 USB 2.0, an HDMI 1.4 port for a monitor or a TV, and a 3.5 mm audio combo jack. On the wireless side, tri-band Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are built in. It has no Ethernet socket: a USB adapter will do the job.
