How long does the BVX1200LI run on battery?
It all depends on what is plugged in: at full load, 650 W, it lasts one minute. That is typical of an entry-level UPS — the lighter the load, the longer the runtime, hence the value of not loading it to its limit.
Why does 1200 VA only give 650 W?
Because the power factor is 0.51: barely half of the apparent power is usable. It is the 650 W figure that you must compare with the combined consumption of your PC, its monitor and its accessories.
Are all six outlets on the BVX1200LI battery-backed?
Yes, all six C13 outlets are powered by the battery — none is limited to surge protection alone. Input is via a C14 inlet, with a 1.22 m cord.
Within what voltage range does the AVR correct without the battery?
Between 140 and 300 V. Within this range, the automatic regulator brings the voltage back to its normal value without drawing on the battery, which thus stays full for real power cuts and wears out less quickly.
How long does the BVX1200LI take to switch to battery?
6 milliseconds at half load, 10 maximum. A computer power supply rides through such a gap without a hitch: the screen does not go off and the session is not interrupted.
Can the BVX1200LI be switched on without mains power?
Yes, cold start is supported: the UPS starts up on its battery alone, with the power cut already under way. Handy for powering a computer back on for a few minutes to retrieve a file.
Does the BVX1200LI connect to a computer?
No, it has no USB port: its status is shown by indicator lights, online or on battery, supplemented by audible alarms when switching to battery, at low battery and on overload. There is therefore no automatic shutdown controlled from the computer.
