Frequently asked questions about this product

How long does the BVX700LI run on battery?
6 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 180 W, and only 2 minutes at 70%, i.e. 252 W. The drop is steep: on this UPS, every watt plugged in beyond half the rated power costs a great deal of runtime.
Which outlets does the BVX700LI have?
Four C13 outlets, the format used by computer and server power cords, with one C14 inlet. You will need IEC cords: there are no household sockets on this unit.
What does the AVR regulator correct, and over what range?
It restores the voltage without drawing on the battery, over an input range of 140 to 300 V. That is a very wide window: on mains that fluctuate a lot, the battery is not called upon for a mere voltage dip.
What waveform does the BVX700LI deliver?
A stepped approximation to a sine wave, built up in steps, not a pure sine wave. That is the usual choice in this entry-level range; if your equipment explicitly requires a pure sine wave, opt for a model that specifies one.
How much load can this 700 VA unit really take?
360 W. It is this wattage that you must compare with your equipment: a light computer setup, a broadband router, a recorder. Stay well below it to keep a useful runtime.
How much space does the BVX700LI take up, and is it noisy?
9.8 cm wide, 31 cm deep and 13.8 cm high, weighing 4.2 kg: one of the most compact in its category. It is rated at 40 dBA and cannot be rack-mounted — it is a tower model to be placed on the floor.
What frequency does the UPS operate at?
It automatically detects an input of 50 or 60 Hz ±5 Hz and outputs the same frequency at ±1 Hz, synchronised with the mains. This wide input tolerance avoids needless switchovers on unstable mains.
Is the APC Easy UPS BVX700LI new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for a period of 2 years. It is a line-interactive model: it regulates the voltage continuously, instead of simply switching to battery like an offline unit. The datasheet covers the rest.
