How far can this Aruba transceiver reach?
Up to 10 km, over single-mode fibre. That is the reach of a link between two distant buildings or between two sites, well beyond a multimode module.
What does the LX designation of this Aruba module mean?
LX refers to the long-reach variant of Gigabit Ethernet over fibre, designed for single-mode — as opposed to SX, which is reserved for multimode and limited to a few hundred metres.
Which fibre connector does this module need?
An LC connector, the compact fibre optic format. It is the standard for current SFP modules.
Is this module compatible with my network equipment?
Aruba states compatibility with a wide range of devices. Still, check your switch’s compatibility list: SFP ports are often locked to the manufacturer’s brand.
