1 year manufacturer's warranty

This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.
  • If the product cannot be repaired, the brand offers an exchange for another product.
  • If no product is available, a refund is issued as soon as the brand confirms it.

The warranty covers breakdowns occurring under normal use, as defined by the brand's terms. Product breakage (drop, impact, liquid…) is not covered, nor are certain consumable parts.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Does this HPE 2 TB drive connect to an ordinary SATA controller?
It uses the SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, the most widespread one. It is the SATA variant of the same HPE 2 TB Business Critical drive, which also comes in a SAS 12 Gb/s version intended for high-end server controllers.
What does this HPE drive's digitally signed firmware protect?
It blocks the installation of unauthorised firmware. The drive only accepts code bearing the manufacturer's signature: this protects against compromise at hardware level, invisible from the operating system.
How do I erase this drive before disposing of it?
With the drive's built-in instant secure erase: the data becomes unreadable in a few seconds, without the hours of overwriting that a conventional erase requires. It is what makes it safe to recycle a production drive.
What use is this HPE 2 TB drive intended for?
For mass storage and mission-critical workloads in the data centre: this is the “Business Critical” profile, which favours capacity and cost per gigabyte. Its usage specification lists it for NAS and servers.
What speed can I expect from this HPE 2 TB SATA drive?
7,200 revolutions per minute, with a read throughput below 300 MB/s — typical of a mechanical drive. It is a capacity drive: for low latency, you need an SSD.
Is this HPE 2 TB SATA hard drive new and under warranty?
New, reference 861681-B21, in the 3.5-inch form factor, in original HPE packaging. The invoice serves as the warranty document for 1 year. The datasheet covers everything in detail.
