Does the Voyager Surround 80 have a mic boom?
No, and that is a deliberate design choice: ten built-in microphones in the headset replace the boom — six pick up your voice, four feed the adaptive active noise cancellation. Nothing sticks out in front of your face on video calls.
What is the battery life of the Voyager Surround 80?
21 h of talk time and 24 h of audio playback: two separate figures, the first being the one that matters for professional use. A full recharge takes only one hour.
Does the headset answer calls on its own when you put it on?
Yes, smart sensors handle automatic call answering: the headset responds to being worn. The other controls — play, pause, next track, volume — are touch-sensitive, on the ear cup.
Can it be used wired when the battery is flat?
Yes, it has a 3.5 mm jack input and the 3.5 mm to USB-C cable is included in the box. The wired connection takes over without interrupting your day.
How does the headset connect to a computer and a smartphone?
Via Bluetooth 5.3, with a USB-C/A adapter included for the computer and a direct connection on the mobile side. Two devices stay connected at the same time, with a range of up to 30 m.
What difference does the carbon fibre shell make?
It makes the whole headset lighter: Poly promises an ultra-light fit combining carbon fibre, ultra-soft ear cups and an adjustable headband, for a 275 g headset you forget you are wearing as the day goes on.
Is this headset as good for music as it is for calls?
Poly presents it first and foremost as a music and everyday headset: 40 mm drivers, 132 dB sensitivity, microphones covering 20 Hz – 16 kHz. It reproduces calls as faithfully as music, which is rare on a professional headset.
What is in the box of the Voyager Surround 80 UC?
The headset, the USB audio adapter, a 3.5 mm to USB-C cable, a carrying case and the quick start guide. The charging case connects via USB-C.
