Frequently asked questions about this product
What happens when a call comes in during a film?
The sound switches automatically to the phone: since the headphones are connected to two devices via multipoint, they detect the incoming call and connect to it on their own. No fiddling, no re-pairing.
What battery life does the JBL Tune 510BT offer?
Up to 40 hours of wireless listening, with a full recharge taking 2 hours via USB-C. And 5 minutes of charging gives you 2 hours of music, enough to cover an unexpected journey.
Can you call up Siri or Google Assistant from the headphones?
Yes, access is direct from the headphone controls: start a playlist, ask a question, dictate a message. Your phone can stay in your pocket for the whole journey.
Do these headphones sit on the ear or surround it?
They sit on it: this is an on-ear model weighing 160 g, with 32 mm drivers. This design explains its lightness and its ability to fold, at the cost of moderate passive isolation.
Does the Tune 510BT fold up for your bag?
Yes, it is foldable and weighs only 160 g: it is designed as headphones you take with you every day rather than a model meant to stay on a desk.
Can you take a call without taking out your phone?
Yes: a built-in microphone provides hands-free calling, and the controls are on the ear cup — answer, adjust the volume, skip tracks. Everything is done with one hand.
Do these headphones actively cancel ambient noise?
No, there is no active noise cancellation on this model: only the ear cushions resting on the ear dampen the background noise. This is also what explains 40 hours of battery life on such light headphones.
Are the black JBL Tune 510BT headphones new and under warranty?
Yes, new and genuine, with a 1-year warranty, the invoice serving as the warranty document. Keep it: it is all you need for any workshop repair.
Thirty-five hours in total with the case with noise cancelling off, and 20 h with it on. Silicone wingtips hold the earbud without pressing, from the sofa to a run, and an ambient sound mode keeps you in touch.
•35 h in total with the case without noise cancelling, 20 h with it
•Active noise cancelling, plus an ambient sound mode
No dedicated amplifier needed: it plugs straight into a smartphone, a tablet or a laptop with no loss of volume. The 50 mm drivers cover 10 Hz to 25 kHz and the 3 m cable can be replaced if it breaks.
Wired business headset with HD sound: the noise-cancelling mic on a boom rotating through 270° keeps the hubbub out, and the dynamic equaliser switches by itself between calls and multimedia. Call and volume controls on the cord.
Plugged in over USB-C, it carries the sound as well as recharging. Up to 75 hours of listening without noise cancellation, 45 hours with, and the app offers 8 equalisers and 3 isolation modes.
•Adaptive hybrid active noise cancellation, up to 43 dB attenuated
Microsoft Teams certified, for calls and concentration in an open-plan office: noise-cancelling microphone, leatherette ear cushions that damp the background noise and an in-line controller for volume, calls and mute.
Two beamforming microphones on an extended boom filter out office noise during calls. Up to 20 h of listening or 16 h of talk time, and 5 minutes of charging gives back 1 h of call time.
Laser-tuned drivers and a built-in equaliser: the stereo sound stays crisp and free of distortion, for calls as for music. The mic boom tucks into the headband when not in use.
Plugged into a USB port, it works with no driver to install. The microphone boom swivels through 270° to move from one ear to the other, and the in-line remote sets the volume and mutes the microphone.
For video meetings and everyday calls, in stereo: a noise-cancelling microphone on a swivelling boom that folds away when not in use, and volume and mute controls right on the cable. Nothing to install.
One earcup swivels 90° to listen with a single ear and keep the other on the booth, the DJ's gesture. Response reaches 22 kHz and isolation stays tight: the same model moves from mixing to tracking to the booth.
