High-end professional UPS, convertible between rack and tower: line-interactive with voltage regulation, 3000 VA / 3000 W.
Technology & protection: it switches to battery the instant the power cuts out, absorbs surges and continuously corrects voltage fluctuations without drawing on the battery.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the 5PX 3000i really deliver 3000 W?
Yes: its power factor is unity, so the full 3000 VA is available in watts. On a conventional line-interactive unit at 0.6, only 1800 would remain — that is almost twice as much equipment powered for the same stated rating.
What waveform does the 5PX Gen 2 output on battery?
A pure sine wave: the technology is high-frequency Line-Interactive with a booster and fader. The output is held at 230 V (+6/-10%), adjustable to 200, 208, 220, 230 or 240 V, with a frequency stabilised to within ±0.1 Hz.
Can the runtime of the 5PX 3000i be extended?
Yes, with up to four external battery modules (EBM), hot-swappable: the runtime can therefore be adjusted afterwards, without changing the UPS and without cutting the power during replacement.
Which outlets does the 5PX 3000i have?
Eight C13 outlets and two heavy-duty 16 A C19 outlets, with a C20 input, also rated at 16 A. Some outputs are grouped into controllable load segments, so secondary equipment can be shut down before the rest.
What input voltage range does the 5PX Gen 2 accept?
160 to 294 V, adjustable down to 150-294 V, at a frequency of 47 to 70 Hz on a 50 Hz system — and down to 40 Hz in low-sensitivity mode. This wide range lets it cope with a badly degraded grid, or even a generator.
Can the UPS be replaced without cutting power to the equipment?
Yes, the 5PX Gen 2 is compatible with the HotSwap MBP maintenance bypass range, which lets you remove the UPS in the event of a failure without interrupting the power supply. Battery replacement, for its part, is done through a dedicated panel.
How do you connect the 5PX 3000i to a monitoring system?
Through an HID-compliant USB port, an RS-232 serial port, a mini terminal block for remote on/off, a mini relay terminal block and dry contacts (three outputs, one input, on DB9). A communication card slot takes an optional network card.
Does the 5PX 3000i install in a rack or as a tower?
Both: it is a convertible 2U rack or tower chassis, weighing 31.7 kg. At that weight, rack mounting takes two people and the unit goes at the bottom of the cabinet.
What does ABM battery management bring on the 5PX Gen 2?
It only recharges the batteries when necessary instead of keeping them on constant charge, which prevents plate corrosion and extends their service life. The graphical LCD screen also shows the load, the battery and the measured power consumption.
Is the Eaton 5PX 3000i RT2U G2 new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. It stays below 40 dB at one metre, which is very quiet for a 3000 VA unit, and can therefore stay in an occupied room. The datasheet covers the rest.
