Frequently asked questions about this product
What age is the HyperX Cloud Mini designed for?
For ages 8 to 12: that is the age range the manufacturer targets, with the volume capped below 85 dB to protect hearing. The headset will not go above that level, whatever the device's volume setting.
Does this headset work on consoles as well as on PC?
Yes: it is listed as compatible with PC, Xbox, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, Chromebook and mobile. It is even Chromebook certified and supports Fast Pair for quick pairing.
Can it be used wired if the battery is flat?
Yes, through a four-pole 3.5 mm jack — the kind that also carries the mic. So the child can keep playing or follow a lesson while the headset recharges.
How does a child mute the mic?
By swivelling it upwards: the mic mutes with a simple movement, with no button to find. It is the simplest action to explain to a child playing online.
What battery life and charging time does this headset have?
Up to 25 hours per charge, and 2 hours for a full charge. The wireless range reaches 20 metres: the child can move away from the console without losing the sound.
Is the headset suited to a child's head?
It weighs 132 g and has a closed-back on-ear design, resting on the ear — more compact than a model that surrounds it. The ear cushions are made of memory foam.
Can this headset be worn around the neck between games?
Yes, the ear cups rotate: they swivel flat so the headset can rest against you during a break, instead of sitting across your head.
How good are the speakers in this children's headset?
They are 30 mm drivers with neodymium magnets, a diameter suited to a compact headset. Combined with the 85 dB cap, they aim for comfortable listening rather than showy bass.
Is the HyperX Cloud Mini headset new and under warranty?
Yes, new and genuine, with a 1-year warranty, the invoice serving as the warranty document. The full measurements are in the HyperX datasheet.
Thirty-five hours in total with the case with noise cancelling off, and 20 h with it on. Silicone wingtips hold the earbud without pressing, from the sofa to a run, and an ambient sound mode keeps you in touch.
•35 h in total with the case without noise cancelling, 20 h with it
•Active noise cancelling, plus an ambient sound mode
No dedicated amplifier needed: it plugs straight into a smartphone, a tablet or a laptop with no loss of volume. The 50 mm drivers cover 10 Hz to 25 kHz and the 3 m cable can be replaced if it breaks.
Wired business headset with HD sound: the noise-cancelling mic on a boom rotating through 270° keeps the hubbub out, and the dynamic equaliser switches by itself between calls and multimedia. Call and volume controls on the cord.
Two beamforming microphones on an extended boom filter out office noise during calls. Up to 20 h of listening or 16 h of talk time, and 5 minutes of charging gives back 1 h of call time.
Plugged in over USB-C, it carries the sound as well as recharging. Up to 75 hours of listening without noise cancellation, 45 hours with, and the app offers 8 equalisers and 3 isolation modes.
•Adaptive hybrid active noise cancellation, up to 43 dB attenuated
Microsoft Teams certified, for calls and concentration in an open-plan office: noise-cancelling microphone, leatherette ear cushions that damp the background noise and an in-line controller for volume, calls and mute.
One earcup swivels 90° to listen with a single ear and keep the other on the booth, the DJ's gesture. Response reaches 22 kHz and isolation stays tight: the same model moves from mixing to tracking to the booth.
The red light comes on as soon as you are on a call: your colleagues know not to interrupt you. Unidirectional boom microphone that folds up when not in use, and a 3.5 mm jack to connect a phone or tablet too.
Laser-tuned drivers and a built-in equaliser: the stereo sound stays crisp and free of distortion, for calls as for music. The mic boom tucks into the headband when not in use.
The JBL Headphones app tunes the equaliser to your taste, and Voice Aware lets you hear your own voice during a call. Connected to two devices at once, 220 g on the head, 76 hours of stated listening.
